HandBasics Presents: Self-care for Osteoarthritis

If you, or someone you know, suffers from Osteoarthritis pain in the hands, wrists, elbows or shoulders, please join Mary Woodbury, OTR/L CHT for a discussion about self-care and easy-to-perform techniques to ease discomfort in the hands and upper extremities. According to the Arthritis Foundation, 32.5 million adults in America with osteoarthritis woke up in pain today. Come learn about techniques, devices, and splints, to balance daily activities and exercises with pain management. Self-care is conservative care and often the first line of care prescribed by Occupational Therapists.
Paint Night: Pet Portrait (FF)

*This is a Family-Friendly program, which means this workshop is open only to adults with minors. To participate in this program, adults need to register themselves and at least one child. An adult can register multiple children (up to 3).
Come join Shirley Anderson for an engaging and beginner-friendly ‘Paint your Pet’ class! In this workshop budding artists will receive step-by-step guidance to create a beautiful portrait of their beloved furry of feathered companions. No Prior experience is necessary; Shirley welcomes beginners with open arms. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or picking up a brush for the first time, this class is a fun and rewarding experience as you immortalize your pet on canvas. After signing up for this class, you will need to email shirl.art5050@mail.com with 5 good quality photos of your pet. Canvas and paints are supplied.

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in style! In this no-bake class, you’ll craft delicate Snow Skin Mooncakes—modern variations of a centuries-old symbol of reunion and gratitude. Using glutinous rice flour, you’ll make the smooth, chewy “snow skin” and fill it with sweet lotus paste, red bean, or fruit flavors before molding them into beautiful designs. Learn about the cultural stories behind the mooncake while enjoying a creative, hands-on experience. All ingredients & equipment provided.
Intermediate Book Binding

Classes will cover various techniques and materials including Decorative Paste Papers, The Stab Binding, and the Long Stitched Book. Each class will focus on a different topic, while we learn the basics of book binding vocabulary, tools & materials. Tools & materials provided.
