This 55-hour remote learning real estate agent course, approved by the Maine Real Estate Commission, is a prerequisite to taking the Pearson VUE state licensing exam. Based on the book, Introduction to a Successful Career in Maine Real Estate, by Charles “Kim” Coit, its content includes material that is basic to the practice of real estate in Maine. Mosaic Pet Portraits

Furred, feathered, scaled or even bald pets are beautiful! Please bring two printed copies of an 8x8inch or slightly smaller portrait photo of your pet to class. We will learn how to score, break, and snip glass and ceramics down to shape and glue to our substrate. On the last day of class we will finish with grout. No experience required! All Materials/Tools provided. A material fee of $35 must be paid to the instructor on the first night of class.
From Realism To Abstraction: Approaching The Landscape With Gouache

Join artist/instructor Kat Logan for an immersive adult education class that explores the process of moving from realism into abstraction in landscape painting using the versatile medium of gouache. She will introduce exercises to inspire simplification, alteration, and ways of allowing your creative spirit to find the abstraction in a voice that is artistically yours. As well as techniques of using materials like palette knives, credit cards and mediums to explore colorful new interpretations. Some painting experience might be helpful but not at all necessary for this course. All materials are included. A $35 materials fee, payable to the instructor, must be paid on the first day of class.
Tonalism In The Landscape With Charcoal

Join artist/instructor Kat Logan in this immersive adult education class focused on Tonalism in landscape art using charcoal and a medium. Participants will delve into learning to see the BIG SHAPES FIRST, helping to simplify and compose both from photographs and from life (plein air). Whether your preference is for realism or abstraction, this class will guide you in mastering the use of values, composition and mood to create evocative landscapes. Some drawing experience would be beneficial. Materials are included. A $20 materials fee, payable to the instructor, must be paid on the first day of class.
Fundamentals of Home Canning

Have you ever wanted to try canning, but were unsure how to get started? Or perhaps you are concerned about food safety, and wondering how to ensure that your canned food is both delicious and safe. Well, this is the class for you! Join Allison Carroll Duffy, Master Food Preserver and cookbook author, for this hands-on workshop covering all that you need to know to get started canning your own food. Well cover the basics of safe home canning, including proper procedures, techniques, and use of tools and equipment. Then we’ll learn hands-on--working together as a group and going step-by-step--to make and can a big batch of jam. We’ll use the boiling water bath method, which is the same method you’ll use for making many other canned goods you might want to make at home, including pickles, salsas, chutneys, and fruit. While this class will focus primarily on the boiling water bath method of canning, pressure canning will also be discussed. At the end of the class, there will be plenty of jam to taste, and each participant will go home with a jar of jam to enjoy...as well as all the know-how you need to start canning confidently at home! *A materials fee of $10 must be paid to the instructor on the first night of class.
