Have you wondered what meditation is all about? This beginning class will explain meditation and its benefits and teach you how to establish your own practice. In addition to meditation and breathing techniques, you will be introduced to practical skills for managing and reducing stress. Please bring a cushion for the meditation. Ann Kimmage is a certified, experienced yoga and stress management instructor. No class Oct. 14 and Nov. 11.
Microsoft Excel, Intermediate

Build on the basics! Topics covered are Excel lists, working with logical and database functions, and working with multiple worksheets and multiple workbooks. Students need to be familiar with Excel, formulas and functions and have taken an Excel Beginning class or have prior experience with Microsoft Excel.

Create your unique path with the help of a stepping-stone. Learn how to use mosaic tools while working with our extensive tile collection. Pour your cement and take the form home to be removed the next day. Workshop fee includes all materials to make one 9-inch stepping-stone. No discounts.
Movement Meditation, Session II

If you would like a stronger, healthier body, better balance and the ability to move with more fluidity – this class is for you! Entertaining instructors guide participants through specific, easy movements done to inspiring music. This is a MOVEMENT class, not an exercise class – so no worries about anything strenuous. Your body, however, will likely feel some wonderful, immediate benefits. All movements can be done from seated, standing or walking positions. No class Nov. 28 during Session II.
Mt. Washington Valley: Foliage & Covered Bridges

Discover the hidden gems of Mt. Washington Valley during peak foliage season! Bring your sense of adventure as we explore historic covered bridges surrounded by quaint villages and untouched forests of reds, yellows, and oranges. Wind your way through rocky river valleys and mountain passes as we enjoy the vibrant colors that surround us in the White Mountains. Relax on the banks of the Swift River along the Kancamagus Scenic Byway with a picnic lunch provided by a local cafe while we admire the scenery. We’ll stop in Jackson Village in the heart of Mt. Washington Valley with covered bridges and mountain views all around us. After we’ve gone over the river and through the woods, we’ll visit North Conway Village. Check out local shops, general stores, cafes, galleries, restaurants, the historic train station and mountain views from the park. Included in the cost: lunch from a local cafe (drink, sandwich, chips & cookie) and entrance fees to the Kancamagus Scenic Byway. Dinner is not included. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring extra layers, comfortable walking shoes, water and snacks, if you choose. Mushrooming, Session II
with David Spahr, Merrymeeting Adult Education
This course will include walking the woods to find edible mushrooms along with detailed descriptions of habitat and structure of mushrooms. David Spahr has collected edible mushrooms for 46 years. He is a member of the Maine Mycological Association and the North American Mycological Assoc. Every walk bears a different bounty depending on time of season, the weather and location. The majority of the mushrooms found in nature are often not edible, but learning this element is even more important than knowing which ones to eat. Required Supply List: Notebook and pen to take notes on your finds is very useful, sensible clothing & footwear, water, snack and bug repellent. A basket or bags, are optional. These hikes can be moderate difficulty. No discounts.

Emphasis is on illustration, writing the script and presentation of ideas for potential publication. Students should bring a pad of drawing paper and pencils. No class Oct. 14 and Nov. 11.
