General Ledger and Month End Procedures

In this course, you will learn how to post journal entries to the correct general ledger accounts impacted by each transaction. This course will show you how to make sure your general ledger balances at the end of each month by preparing an unadjusted trial balance. You will learn how to look for errors when you don’t balance, and how to determine to correct entries. After posting correcting entries and/or adjusting entries, you will verify debits and credits equal with an adjusted trial balance. This course also goes through the steps of performing monthly bank reconciliations.

Intro to Ukulele
with Nina Andersen, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education

The ukulele is one of the easiest ways to try making music for the first time, or learn a new instrument. In this class we’ll start with 4-5 basic chords that can be used to play lots of popular and familiar tunes and build from there. We’ll cover how to tune, strum and sing along. No prior musical experience required and all levels are welcome! Instructor Nina Andersen has 30 years of experience facilitating and supporting adults making music at whatever level they can. She is the Founder and Music Director of the Southern Maine New Horizons Band, Music Director of the New England Adult Music Camp and the Associate Conductor of the Harpswell Concert Band. She was also the Music Director of the Maine Pops Concert Band from 1997-2017. This program will run out of Bowdoin College, Gibson Hall, Room 10. *No Class: 10/13.

Please bring a birth certificate or passport to the first class and a pen to every class. Parents/Guardians must attend the last 45 minutes of the first class and participate in a ride-along with their child, which will be scheduled by the instructor and the parent.

Are you between the ages of 15 and 19 and want your State of Maine permit to prepare for your driving exam? We offer driver education courses to help build strong, safe, and confident drivers. Students are awarded an instructional permit upon successfully completing the course with a grade of 80 percent or better and completing the required hours of instruction. The total hours of instruction are 40; 30 are in the classroom, and 10 are behind the wheel. A full payment of $575 is due at the time of registration. If a student withdraws from the course, $75 is withheld from the refund to cover program costs. Only employee discounts for this class. Please call Merrymeeting to register by phone if you are employed by MSAD 75, RSU 1, Brunswick, or Wiscasset school departments. The list is available on our website for students with a medical diagnosis. Please contact the office or click the link below for the required CR-24 medical form. Hand Stamped Interactive Greeting Card: Halloween Bat

In this class, we will follow step by step instructions to create an interactive greeting card. You will leave with an adorable bat themed pop up card! We will also make a Halloween treat holder to give to a special someone. Precut kits and envelopes are provided. Participants need a pair of scissors and colored pencils or markers.

Yeast Roll Jubilee

In this one night class we will learn how to mix, knead, proof and shape yeast dough into both savory and sweet treats. Participants will learn how to create cloverleaf rolls, butter crescents, cinnamon swirls, tea rings, sticky caramel rolls and whole-wheat buns as well as an economical savory braid that is a crowd pleaser. You will learn what gluten is really about! Various yeast bread tricks will be shared and discussed. Each student will go home with samples warm as well as dough to bake later at home. All baking levels are welcome for this hands-on class. Bring an apron, and some plastic tubs/large bags to fill and take home. All materials included.
