Learn to Sew a Basic Wardrobe
with Susan Ellis, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education
Classes cover sewing basics like the tools you’ll need to get started, threading a needle, sewing by hand, and how to purchase a machine as well as how to choose and use a sewing pattern to put together a wardrobe of basic clothing pieces. We’ll make a drawstring bag in class, and a simple piece of clothing like a skirt, drawstring pants or unisex top. There is a $40 tools and materials fee payable to the instructor on the first night of class (includes fabric for your bag but not for the clothing piece). Additional patterns and materials will be available for an extra fee paid directly to instructor.

Wine Glass Painting w/ Melissa

Make a new friend while creating one of a kind wine glasses. This class will focus on color patterns, and brush techniques. All artistic abilities are welcome. Bring your own wine glasses and paint as many as you like in this 2-hour workshop. They make wonderful gifts and are customizable for any occasion. Brushes and paint will be provided. You will leave with your new wine glasses and the brushes needed to continue experimenting.

Young creative minds unite, to explore sculpture, painting, and printmaking in this dynamic kids workshop. Students will be exposed to new art making techniques and encouraged to experiment and collaborate. This class is interactive and will have students moving and laughing while sharing their creative ideas with one another. We will end the camp with an artists exhibit where they will curate their work and display it for family and friends to see. All materials provided. No experience required. Camp runs 4/17, 4/18, & 4/19, from 9am-12pm each day. *For ages 8-12.

Unlock your artistic potential in this dynamic and engaging mixed media art experience designed specifically for teenagers! Exploring creativity invites young artists to embark on a journey of self-expression, experimentation, and discovery through a variety of artistic mediums. In this 3-day experience, students will explore the limitless possibilities of combining different artistic materials, techniques, and forms to create unique and visually compelling works of art. From traditional drawing and painting to unconventional materials like found objects, and fabric, participants will be encouraged to break boundaries and let their creativity soar. All materials provided. No experience required. Camp runs 4/17, 4/18, & 4/19, from 1230-330pm each day. For ages 13-17.
