MidCoast Ukes: Next Steps
with Nina Andersen, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education
This is an ongoing instructional and playing session for students that have participated in the Intro to Ukulele session offered by Nina Andersen. Each session will build on the skills learned in the Intro class and we'll build a solid repertoire of songs to play together.
No Meeting on Tuesday, April 14th. The February 24th and April 7th meetings will be at Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick.

This class meets on the following Tuesdays: 9/30, 10/14, 10/28, 11/12 (Wednesday), 11/25, 12/9. However, the first classs (9/30) will meet at the library, as already arranged with Nina. All other class dates will meet at the Adult Ed Center in Topsham.
Chinese Cuisine: Mooncakes
with Shufang Liao, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education
Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in style! In this no-bake class, you’ll craft delicate Snow Skin Mooncakes—modern variations of a centuries-old symbol of reunion and gratitude. Using glutinous rice flour, you’ll make the smooth, chewy “snow skin” and fill it with sweet lotus paste, red bean, or fruit flavors before molding them into beautiful designs. Learn about the cultural stories behind the mooncake while enjoying a creative, hands-on experience. All ingredients & equipment provided.
Intermediate Book Binding

Classes will cover various techniques and materials including Decorative Paste Papers, The Stab Binding, and the Long Stitched Book. Each class will focus on a different topic, while we learn the basics of book binding vocabulary, tools & materials. Tools & materials provided. A materials fee of $20 payable to the instructor is due on the first night.

Life Drawing Studio: Spring Edition

In this installment of the popular figure drawing class, we’ll be working from live (clothed) models to develop and reinforce drawing skills related to the human form. Medium will be charcoal and Conté crayon. You will also need large pads of newsprint (18 x 24), kneaded erasers, and an easel (optional). Students are encouraged to tip the model at the end of each class. *No Class: 4/20 & 5/25.
