Would you like to become a Certifi ed Nursing Assistant? Th isState-approved 180-hour course consists of classroom time, labpractice and clinical work. Time is spent on the aspects of caringfor patients and residents, diseases and disease processes, andanatomy and physiology. Clinical hours allow the student topractice what was learned in the classroom with actual handsonexperience. Classes are held two nights per week from 4to 9 p.m. for 19 weeks. During Clinical, hours are from 4 to9:30 p.m., and there are two Saturday sessions from 7 a.m. to3 p.m. Th e Certifi ed Nursing Assistant State Competency Testis administered upon completion of the course. In partnership with KVCC and SMCC, Maranacook AdultEducation will be off ering the CDL Class B training (dumptruck or bus) for free to 20 participants during the Januaryclass. Jan. 14-18, 21-25, Jan 28-Feb 1. Monday through Friday,6-9 p.m. Make-up days will be Feb. 4 and 5 for students whomiss class. February 6, 7 and 8 are extra snow days in case classis cancelled. Call the Maranacook Adult Education offi ce at685-4923, Ext. 1065, leave your name and number, statingyour interest. Th e course will prepare you to meet Maine DMV requirements and consists of 42 hours of classroom instructionto prepare you for the CDL license process, including writtenand skills exam. 30 hours of one-on-one road/range instructionwill prepare you for the road test. Driving time arrangedindividually with instructor. In addition to the cost of thecourse, a $35 permit fee, payable to the Secretary of State, is due by the second class. Additional endorsements are $10 each. Forthe bus driving endorsement, you must be over 21, have a cleandriving record and get a physical exam. Classes run for threeweeks. Unleash your digital photo creativity. Learn how to take control of your camera settings and get the effect you want. This class covers the basic settings of your camera: Aperture, shutter speed, and ISO sensitivity. Each week we will explore an aspect of digital photography, learning what camera settings to use to get the effect you want, and practice putting it all together. There will be hands-on practice of each technique, plus a chance to view your pictures and get constructive comments. Students are encouraged to complete a fun assignment each week. Prerequisites: Digital camera basics or the ability to change shooting modes from Auto to Manual or other creative modes, ability to upload photos to a website from your computer. NOTE: You must have a DSLR (with removable lenses), your camera manual, and a tripod for this class.
