Paint Night: The Rooster

Join us for an evening of creative expression with Paint a Rooster Night hosted by the talented artist Shirley Anderson! In this engaging class, participants will unleash their inner artists as they learn to paint a vibrant rooster masterpiece. . Whether you're a seasoned painter or a complete novice, this event promises fun, relaxation, and the opportunity to create something truly unique. Grab your friends and join us for a memorable night filled with laughter, creativity, and maybe a few surprise clucks! Canvas and paints are supplied.
Painting the Landscape: Rocks

In this class, open to all levels, students will learn to paint rocks as expressive elements within a landscape. We’ll explore structure, texture, light, and shadow to capture their weight and character. Open to all paint mediums. Upon registration a simple list of materials will be sent out.
Sashiko Mending
with Asia Cole, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education
Have clothes that need mending? Come learn sashiko, the Japanese art of visible mending where we will patch our garments with a purposefully visible stitch to strengthen and beautify them all at once. Students will each receive needles, thread, a patch, and a take-home guide. Please bring a ruler, scissors, sewing pins, and your garment of choice (denim preferred). A $25 materials fee, payable to the instructor, must be paid the first night of class.
Foraging Walk

Learn to identify edible treasures, from berries to mushrooms, and uncover the secrets of plant ecology. This isn't just a walk, it's a transformative experience that fills your basket and your soul! HandBasics Presents: Self-care for Osteoarthritis

If you, or someone you know, suffers from Osteoarthritis pain in the hands, wrists, elbows or shoulders, please join Mary Woodbury, OTR/L CHT for a discussion about self-care and easy-to-perform techniques to ease discomfort in the hands and upper extremities. According to the Arthritis Foundation, 32.5 million adults in America with osteoarthritis woke up in pain today. Come learn about techniques, devices, and splints, to balance daily activities and exercises with pain management. Self-care is conservative care and often the first line of care prescribed by Occupational Therapists.
Ultimate Beginner Watercolor: Level 3

Join Catherine for this 1 night class to learn new ways to incorporate mixed media techniques in your work. Create depth, texture and interest with gouache, fluid acrylic, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, dual tipped markers and posca pens (and more). Class will start with a refresher on color and techniques covered in previous levels and then transition to discuss new ways to think about layers while introducing various mixed media supplies. We will spend the rest of class playing with a variety of materials to incorporate new and old techniques to complete a fun and uplifting illustration. Materials fee: $20 (payable to the instructor).
Plein-Air Painting the Landscape: Excursion at Reid State Park

In this class, open to all levels, students will learn to see the elements of composition directly in the landscape and bring them to their canvases. Open to all paint mediums. Upon registration a list of materials will be sent out. (Park admission is not included in the fee)
