Students continue to learn American and Latin Ballroom in this intermediate dance class. Students who have some ballroom and Latin dance experience are welcome - so get ready to perfect your existing dance steps and build confidence with each class. Students continue to learn all the moves in Foxtrot, Swing, Mambo, Merengue, Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha and Tango. No partner necessary. Classes are held at Cellar Fitness, 9 Cumberland St., Brunswick. Bring tennis shoes to put on when you arrive (no street shoes allowed on the courts). Class will take place at the Landing Y, 24 Venture Avenue, Brunswick Landing (former Navy base).

Beginning to Stay Home Alone

Are you a parent of an 8 to 11-year-old who is starting to stay home alone? Students learn about safe snacks and activities, as well how to deal with potential problems, such as a fire or medical emergency. Includes a take-home booklet to be shared with parents. This class will help build confidence in your child and give them a toolbox of skills to assist them in staying home alone.

After passing the online portion of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife Bowhunter education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Bowhunter Skills and Exam Day. This is 6 to 7 hours, depending on the number of students attending and will include a classroom session, blood trailing, distance judging, demonstrations of tree stand safety, and survival skills. Bring your Bowhunter Skills and Exam Day Voucher to class as proof of having completed the online course. The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife requires that you read "Beyond Fair Chase," by Jim Posewitz and that you bring your Survival Kit to the Bowhunter Skills and Exam Day. Canoe Paddle Making

In this 3-week hands-on workshop you will create a beautiful and useful canoe paddle using hand tools. We will explore traditional designs and local woods. All tools and materials will be provided. $30 material fee is included in the price. Spooncarving (offered in this catalog) or some woodworking experience suggested prior to this class.
