This seminar is for those investors that are five to fifteen years from retirement and will address steps needed to prepare for health care costs (including Medicare and long-term care costs) to help ensure their retirement savings stay healthy. Limit 10 students.

Retirement Planning 101

Are you worried about retirement? Are you wondering if you are financially prepared? This course will address planning for retirement, living in retirement, and passing on assets to loved ones after retirement. We will discuss how much to save and how to invest it wisely to achieve your retirement goals.

With your Google account we will explore this exciting app and learn how to backup ALL of your photos to one place in the cloud, at no cost to you. We will also explore easy yet powerful editing tools that will include light, color, rotate/resize/ cropping and some special filters. We’ll also look at cloud sharing and organizational possibilities. Never lose a picture or send an email attachment again!

This one hour educational program will address steps individuals should take to prepare for health care costs to help ensure their retirement savings stay healthy. We will cover: healthcare and your retirement, the cost of health during retirement, preparing for long-term care expenses, using insurance to address long-term care costs, a healthy retirement portfolio, and a pre-Medicare checklist.
CHARTING A COURSE
with Steve Paquette, Franklin County Adult Education
Be better than a map app! Learn basic navigation and chart/map reading. We will be making our own accurate map/ chart and learning compass reading as it relates to true directions. This information is applicable to land, sea and air. This course can expand to introduce nautical/ air-nautical navigation to set up for a Merchant Marine or Pilot’s license.
Materials: Will be provided by instructor, fee TBD, pay instructor at 1st class.
HOMEMADE GOAT MILK SOAP SESSION 2
with Karen Shumac, Franklin County Adult Education
Over the course of 2 sessions, we will transform common kitchen ingredients into beautiful handcrafted soap. On the first night, we will briefly discuss the science of soap making, safety tips, tools and ingredients. Then, using a basic recipe we will combine vegetable oils and goat milk into a simple but luxurious soap, the likes of which you will not find on the grocery store shelf. On the second night we will expand our repertoire by adding the color, scent, and/or exfoliant of your choice. Each participant will go home with several bars of soap.
Materials: $15 pay to instructor at 1st class

Designed for people who are thinking about retiring or have retired recently. The workshop discusses the ideas to help build a reasonable and sustainable strategy for managing income and expenses during retirement. Understand the possibilities; plan for the expected; prepare for the unexpected; position the portfolio for both; staying on track.
