Cooking Matters at the Grocery Store

Join us for "Cooking Matters at the Store," a free class offered in partnership with Healthy Acadia and Maine SNAP-Ed. In this one hour session, we will bring the grocery store to you! Participants will learn tips to stretch a food budget, how to use unit pricing, how to buy fruits and vegetables on a budget, how to identify whole grains, how to read food labels, and how to save money! All participants will receive a $10 Hannaford Gift Card.

Whether you are a recent graduate or have been repaying your student loans for a long time, join us to learn how to best manage your student loan repayment. We’ll discuss federal and private student loan repayment as well as Public Service Loan Forgiveness for federal student loans. We’ll share the necessary resources for successful student loan repayment – including an overview of federal student loan consolidation and private education loan refinancing.

The MEOC works with adults who are interested in furthering their education. We are able to help individuals explore career options. Depending on the career and path you have chosen, it may be supporting you while you are completing a high school diploma/HiSet, a certificate, or a college degree. We also help you fill out college applications and the FASFA. For others, the focus is on finding the funds available to them through grants and scholarships.

Once you have registered for a session the instructor will contact you.  She will see what your needs are and if you would like to meet in person, over the phone or via zoom.
