The Federal Student Loan repayment pause ends on October 1st. Are you ready? Would you like to know more about the options available to you when paying back your student loans? Would you like to learn more about how to consolidate loans to make repayment smoother? Whether you have recently graduated from college or have been repaying your student loans for a long time, join us to learn how to best manage your student loan repayment.

Join a money specialist from The Finance Authority of Maine as we cover these topics and more. In this virtual workshop we’ll discuss federal and private student loan repayment as well as Public Service Loan Forgiveness for federal student loans. We’ll share the necessary resources for successful student loan repayment – including an overview of federal student loan consolidation and private education loan refinancing. Bring your questions and join us for this 1-hour virtual workshop.  

This workshop is offered by FAME in partnership with adult education programs across Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot and Washington Counties.  This is live online using ZOOM.

Nikki Vachon, College Access Counselor at FAME will be sharing information about programs that student loan borrowers might want to take advantage of. She has worked in the financial aid field for over 26 years and is passionate about sharing information and helping students and borrowers. She welcomes interaction and questions in classes and will end the session with helping attendees look up their loan information and creating a list of next steps.

In this course, you will learn how to post journal entries to the correct general ledger accounts impacted by each transaction. This course will show you how to make sure your general ledger balances at the end of each month by preparing an unadjusted trial balance. You will learn how to look for errors when you don’t balance, and how to determine to correct entries. After posting correcting entries and/or adjusting entries, you will verify debits and credits equal with an adjusted trial balance. This course also goes through the steps of performing monthly bank reconciliations.

How do you keep track of the day-to-day financial transactions of a business?  Whether you are looking to advance in your career, or you’re an entrepreneur, (or maybe you are a part of a family business), this course will help you if you are looking to understand the numbers. 

Understand and record every penny that comes into your business and every penny that goes out of your business. Create a chart of accounts that meet your needs.   All of the money you spend, and all of the money you earn, have a place to go.  What are debits and credits?  What do the numbers mean?  How do I label accounts?  No one should be blind to his or her finances!  

Learn where the numbers go, and why!  You will learn the bookkeeping terminology as well as what it means to keep track of the numbers.  At the end of the cycle, what do the numbers mean?  The Basics of Bookkeeping will show you how to keep track of the numbers and why!
