Digital Photography Intermediate APR MAY

In this class we will explore the use of intermediate camera controls such as metering (spot, matrix and center weight), exposure, exposure compensation, ISO, aperture and shutter priority.

We will take an in-depth look at manual focus, fill flash and flash modes, as well as controlling motion, composition and many other advanced techniques.

This ONLINE course is for anyone interested in a more intermediate photography class!

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 2 payments of $35.00, paid every four weeks.

Ceramic Bird Feeder

Are you a bird lover who wants to attract some birds to your yard? Get ready for spring in this 2-night class where you will make your own handmade bird feeder out of ceramic clay! Cynthia will work with you using the slab-build method to create your feeders. You’ll be able to customize your feeder using a number of different tools to add texture and design, or you can freehand designs. When the feeders are ready, you will glaze them before their final firing.

Pickup finished projects on Monday, May 5th at 6pm

A materials fee of $15 is due at the start of class to the instructor.

Panoramic Sugar Easter Eggs

Make your own old-fashioned sugared Easter egg and create a scene to go inside. Materials fee of $30.00 is due by cash or check, payable to the instructor, at the start of class. All baking classes with Steve Watts are hands-on and students take home their finished products.

Beginners drawing class where you'll learn basic skills drawing with objects while learning shading skills and dimensions.

Materials for student to buy:

1.  Set of drawing pencils, must include B and H Class.

2.  1 large stump and 1 small (used for smudging)

4.  Sand eraser

5.  Table or standing easel (can be found at craft stores)

Landscape Drawing

There's no better way to draw a landscape than to experience and observe it in person. Learn about the tools, materials, and techniques plein air artists use to capture their natural surroundings using pencil and wash on paper. The initial class will take place inside where observational drawing, composition, approach, and supplies will be discussed. The following three classes will take place at selected locations within five miles of the WRAE classroom. A suggested supply list will be provided.

Wooden Sailors Chest

In this fun woodworking class, students construct a traditional 14”L x 10”H x 11”W six-board chest out of a single board. You learn to use hand tools, power tools, and templates to make rip, cross, and curve cuts. For example, a Japanese saw, rasp, coping saw, and random orbital sander are used. Learn to plan, assemble, and glue up the components of the chest, and then prepare your chest for finishing with hand and power sanding. Take it home and paint, stain, decoupage or wood burn to create a one of a kind gift that will last for years to come. A material fee of $80 can be paid to the instructor at the start of class.
