Knitting is a versatile skill and a rewarding activity, and there is very little that is more satisfying than creating something with your own hands. But getting started without instruction can be discouraging. This course covers the basics of knitting, teaching you how to choose your materials, read knitting patterns, and create several different simple projects. Through a series of videos, an expert knitter will walk you through the basic stitches that are the building blocks for even the most complicated patterns, and you will soon be on your way to knitting with confidence.

This course shows you how to take beautiful photos of flowers, plants, and wildlife. Four easy-to-follow videos demonstrate and give examples of each of the topics which include: Using focus, exposure and HDR features to capture the beauty of your surroundings; ways to avoid blurry images; tips for composing your images; and editing options that turn so-so images into stunning images. In addition to the instructional videos, we have several articles with useful information to build your repertoire of photographic strategies. This course is made for you if you want to learn to use your camera or significantly upgrade your skills and abilities.

BoomerTECH Adventures was begun in 2014 by three friends and colleagues, all Maine educators who have worked with adults and technology for more than 100 years (collectively)! We provide expert guidance and personalized resources for the 55+ age group to develop competence and confidence using Apple devices. Our team: Ed Brazee - tennis player, runner, “refocused” professor & author/editor; Jill Spencer - traveler, enthusiastic gardener and photographer, middle school teacher, international consultant, and author; Chris Toy - chef, YouTube cooking sensation, long-distance biker, school principal, international consultant, and author.
