Scallop Shell Decoupage

In this workshop you will create 3 beautiful decoupage scallop shells that can be used as trinket dishes or hung as art or ornaments. Choose from a wide variety of themes and prints to make your own design. This 4 step process is easy and fun to do! Each student will make 3 finished pieces-great for yourself, or to give as gifts. Class fee includes all materials.

Get ready to sink your teeth in some tasty treats. This is a 3-hour course where we will learn how to make soft cheese, yogurt, ice cream and maybe even my favorite candy – salted caramels. We will go over the tools and materials needed, ingredients, recipes, and the step-by-step process. Get ready to taste our lovely homemade treats.

All classes are taught by instructor, Jessica Steele and all materials are included. Registration and payment are required to hold your spot in class. Space is limited! Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to receive a refund. If our Adult Ed office or instructor cancel class, refunds will be issued to students.

Driftwood Mobiles and Stabiles

Have you ever wondered how to create mobiles that spin and dance in the slightest breeze? Join Chris Toy and learn the secrets of how to connect and balance recycled driftwood and wire to make beautiful hanging mobiles and tabletop stabiles. Tools and materials will be provided but feel free to bring needle nose pliers, wire cutters, spare wire clothes hangers, and coin sized (quarter, half dollar, dollar) pieces of weathered driftwood. Chris Toy is a retired Maine educator, cooking instructor, author and Registered Maine Guide. He enjoys beach combing, where he finds his craft supplies. He creates rustic upcycled crafts by combing the coastline for driftwood, beach stone, and recycled wire from political signs. His work can be viewed on Facebook at Acadian Driftwood Arts.

Shirley Anderson will lead you step by step through the process of bringing this beautiful Monarch Butterfly to life. Canvas and paints are supplied.

Felted Patch - Crow

Calendar May 15, 2024 at 6 pm, runs for 4 weeks

In this 4-week class you will create a felted patch of Maine's other state bird, the American Crow, perched on the branch of a flowering apple tree. The first week we'll cut out the pattern, felt the pieces together and add roving. Then in the second week we'll add embroidery for details. Registration fee includes all materials.

You will learn how to make a selection of bath and beauty products perfect for the home spa experience. In the class, we will make all natural solid lotion bars, cleansing sugar scrub cubes and dry face masks. You will leave the class with 2 mini solid lotion bars, a jar of cleansing sugar scrub cubes and a dry face mask. You will also leave with the recipes used in the class.
