You'll become intimately familiar with paper types, drawing styles, rendering techniques, and the basic principles of perspective, layout, design, lighting, volume, and space. If you have an interest in learning what it's like to draw or would love to increase your current knowledge in the field of art and illustrating, then this course aims to fulfill all of your needs.

Drawing is a foundational skill that can aid in the development of other creative pursuits. Painters, architects, woodworkers, gardeners, and designers all benefit from honing their drawing skills. But drawing is also an art form in its own right, and learning how to draw can help unlock one's creative potential. Many benefits associated with drawing include increased focus and relaxation, improved creativity and problem solving, and greater hand-eye coordination. In this course, you'll learn the basics of drawing, including how to practice and implement the basic elements of drawing and how to develop a regular habit of drawing and sketching.

Summer Knitting! (6-week)

Can't get enough knitting? Join Vicky at Noble Adult Ed this summer for some knitting FUN!
Vicky will be at Noble High School from 4-7pm, so feel free to come for a couple of hours when you can (4-6, 5-7 etc). No matter your skill level, all are welcome! Vicky is a passionate knitter and always makes classes fun for her students. If the weather cooperates, you can knit outside on our beautiful campus, or if it's too hot the NACE classroom is equipped with AC.
Can't make a full session? No problem, drop-ins are available!
Knitting Basics - One-Night Class - 4p - 6p

Ideal for beginning or "rusty" knitters. Casting on, ending a project, and repairing mistakes will be covered, as well as mastery of the basic knit and purl stitches, the foundation of all knitting.
Even if you have a project that you are trying to do and you are in a position that you need help. This is the class for you.
This class is a short one-night class. All levels of ability are welcome! Bring size 7 knitting needles, 1 light color Supersaver Red heart yarn (7 ounces), 1 small pair of scissors, and a tape measure.

You'll learn how to cast on, master the basic and purl stitches, learn some tips and tricks on repairing mistakes, and learn how to read a pattern! Vicky is a passionate knitter and always makes classes fun for her students.
Green Wood Spoon Carving

Join up-and-coming artisan craftsman and maker Grant Hawkes of Wildfolkwanderer for a weekend making beautiful wooden spoons and plenty of curly wood shavings! Spoons are one of the most universal tools of humanity, being crafted and used across the globe for thousands of years. In this course we will explore the details of spoon carving, diving fully into the process of transforming a freshly cut log into a functional and beautiful spoon using simple hand tools. We will cover tool use and care, wood selection, spoon design, carving techniques, and discussions on craft and the role it plays in our lives as we carve together. Over the weekend, each participant will have the opportunity to work on a couple different projects, completing the course with new skills and utensils to take home.
Date: August 3-4, 10:00 am Saturday to 4:00 pm Sunday
Cost: $300-400 sliding scale, meals and accommodation included (see registration form for more details)

Paint Night: Flowers on Wine Glasses

Paint Night w/ Shirley! Have you ever wanted to paint on a wine glass? Come join us and paint a set of 4 (no stem) wine glasses with beautiful flowers. This class is designed for beginners. Shirley Anderson will lead you step by step through the process of creating a gorgeous set of wine glasses for yourself or as a special gift. This class has an additional materials fee for supplies of $20, payable to the instructor on the night of the workshop.
