Whooo's Out There? What is that plant? How to Use E-Bird, Merlin and I-Naturalist
with Great Works Regional Land Trust, Noble Adult & Community Education
Great Works Regional Land Trust is offering a one night class designed to help you use technology to identify birds, plants, and wildlife in your own backyard. This class will be followed up with a weekend hike on one of GWRLT’s public preserves in the school district region. Learn how to navigate and store your data on E-Bird and I-Naturalist. Use Merlin in real time to identify birdsong and connect what you hear to what you see. Whether in your backyard or deep in the woods, you can track your wildlife adventures by place and by date. Participants should bring their smartphones to download the apps they choose to use.
Class Times are as follows:
Classroom time: Monday, May 11: 6 - 8p at Noble Middle and High School
Hike Day: Saturday, May 16: 9a location to be determind

WATERCOLOR S2 Intermediate
with Russel Whitten, Wells-Ogunquit Adult Community Education
Learn and practice a variety of techniques and approaches specific to watercolor painting. Whether a beginner or experienced, enjoy a relaxing and supportive environment to paint from references, still life objects and observation. You will receive feedback and see what others are working on. Bring ideas for projects to class for instruction tailored to your needs, or participate in guided exercises to gain a deeper understanding of this medium. You may bring your own supplies, if you prefer to purchase your own supplies, please request a materials list at registration.

Fabric Landscapes Made Easy
with Elizabeth Chickering, Noble Adult & Community Education
Create beautiful landscapes from batik and cotton fabric scraps and embellishments. You do not need an expensive pattern or a kit to make this wall-hanging that you will want to frame. Techniques taught are based on Karen Eckmeier’s original book: “Accidental Landscapes, Surprisingly Simple Quilted Scenes”.

Maine Driving Dynamics

You can improve your defensive driving abilities. Learn collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that challenge Maine drivers. If you complete the course, you will receive a 3-point credit on your license. Sorry, online registration is not available for this class.
