Portrait Drawing Studio

$165

with Ed Higgins, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education

Calendar Dec 13, 2024 at 1 pm, runs for 10 weeks

So many of Ed Higgins’ portrait students have come so far, and are now doing amazing work. Here is an opportunity to take your own journey into drawing the human head and face, alongside others in an atelier-style studio class where you learn in an encouraging and constructive environment, with individual coaching from the instructor, and advice and inspiration from continuing students. Ed doesn’t believe in separating beginners from more advanced students. Everyone has the same bad habits to break, and being around people who have been through what you’re going through really does help. In this installment of the portrait class, you’ll continue to learn about the head from Moe, Larry and Curly (our resident skulls), and this term we’ll be drawing each other from life, more than working from reference photos. We hope to have a few guest models drop in as well. We will use a variety of media such as Pencil, Charcoal, and Conté crayons. Open to previous portrait students, but new students are welcome. *No Class: 12/27, 1/3, 2/21.
