Open Sewing Lab
with Emily Loder, Old Orchard Beach/Saco Adult Education
Have a sewing project in mind but don't know where to start? Join us and sew with friendly, like-minded people! Make a project you'll be proud of and take the guesswork out of sewing. Emily will be available to provide sewing machine basics, pattern reading, and basic sewing and finishing techniques. Enjoy a small class size and work at your own pace with personalized instruction. Come learn to sew or improve your skills in this hands-on class.
Emily Loder is a recreational programmer who, through Girl Scouting and volunteer service, has learned many skills that she enjoys sharing with her community. She has extensive experience with both machine and hand sewing techniques.
Tropical Terrariums - the Beginning
with Diane Ferron, Windham/Raymond Adult Education
Love plants but don’t have a “green thumb”? Come learn all the basics and needs to create your own “Nature in a Glass”. Discover how ecosystems and “clean up crews” work. Learn a bit of the science involved as we prepare the soil and the plants, arranging them in a visually appealing style. This is a great way to connect with nature and creative a living work of art! Materials fee of $35 (cash please) payable to instructor at class.
Zumba (in person) or Zoom Zumba!!

When you sign up for Karen's Zumba Class, you’ll have the option of coming in person to the Readfield Elementary School gym or staying home and joining from your living room via Zoom! This time of year it’s very dark at night and weather can be unpredictable. So we'll be offering Zoom Zumba! Those who sign up for class this session will get a Zoom link every week and you can choose whether to come in person or Zumba with us from the comfort of your own home. So, let’s stay fit together no matter the weather!
Zumba is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that is good for all ages and experience levels. You don't have to know how to dance to do Zumba. For one hour a week the only thing you have to focus on is dancing and having fun. Come dance your day's stress away to upbeat Latin and American Music! Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers with as little tread on the bottoms as possible so as not to tweak your knees.

If you only need to take the ServSafe exam because you have already completed the necessary training, you may register to have your test proctored at our center.

Computer Class for Older Adults 01.19.25

Have you taken computer classes before and been totally lost? Well, this unique class is for those who are looking for simple and practical instructions. Your patient instructor has trained 1000s of older adults with 4- and 5-star ratings! We will discuss the popular YouTube website that offers 1000s of free, informative and entertaining videos, show a few email tips and tricks, demonstrate online shopping, visit AARP and other related websites for seniors, use some shortcut keys, and navigate Google Search to do research and get information. So, if you have been frustrated with other classes, consider taking this refreshing and informative computer class for older adults! You won’t be disappointed!
Barre Bootcamp

Barre Bootcamp is a low impact workout that will produce a big burn! Barre combines elements of strength training, Pilates/yoga and dance. Small movements and many reps will help sculpt and tone muscles you didn’t even know you had!
