Maine can be a challenging place to garden. Our season is short. Our soil is questionable. If we didn’t have rocks, we wouldn’t have anything to stand on! Still, Maine is a wonderful place to garden. Come to this class to learn what we can grow and when, where many resources are, how to get a soil test and what gardening by the sea is like. Learn about our native plants, weather cycles, soils, pests, and local resources. It will be a good place to start, so bring your questions!

A Reiki circle is a more relaxed way of learning about Reiki and how it might benefit you. This presentation illustrates how you can translate your vision for retirement into tangible goals.  Whether you're 10 or 40 years from retirement, you'll learn investment strategies to help design the retirement you want.  We'll also discuss how you can add flexibility to your strategy to help you handle unexpected events and how you can keep your strategy on track. In this workshop you will create 3 beautiful decoupage scallop shells that can be used as trinket dishes or hung as art or ornaments. Choose from a wide variety of themes and prints to make your own design. This 4 step process is easy and fun to do! Each student will make 3 finished pieces-great for yourself, or to give as gifts. Class fee includes all materials. 

This class will begin with an overview of basic estate planning, including Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, etc. The class will then delve into, learning how revocable trusts can help avoid probate and protect your privacy, and how irrevocable trusts can protect your assets from nursing home or Maine Care (Medicaid) liens.  Discussion will include other strategies to safeguard assets from life events such as business failure or divorce of adult children. Kathryn Bedell is a lawyer in York, Maine and has been practicing for 31 years. Her practice focuses on estate planning, asset preservation, and probate matters.

Children’s Behavioral Health Services are vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health Disorders and their families. And the need in our area is great! As an integral part of the child’s treatment team, a Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential. We are excited to connect our community with this wonderful blended training and certificate program. This training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies and equip you to work with children who qualify for services. The program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace. Learners must complete all 12 online modules to be eligible to attend the Live Day. Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online bloodborne pathogen training. Child and Adult First Aid & CPR certification is required. In just 40 hours, our free remote training program can get you certified and on your way to a life-changing profession. Must be a Maine resident, and at least 18 years old with a high school diploma (or equivalent) to become certified.
