Pies & Tarts - Oh My!

If you have suffered through pastry mishaps or wondered what to do about running pie filling this may be the class for you. In one evening, we will make a standard two crust pie as well as a fresh fruit tart that will get rave reviews every time you make it. Hands on time with instruction, recipes, tips and liberal tasting opportunities assure that this is a class you won’t want to miss! $10 materials fee paid to instructor will cover cost of sumptuous ingredients. Class size limited!
Debra Arter grew up in the pie capital of Minnesota and learned about baking from her Home Economics teacher mother. She has a trophy from the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest Baking competition on her mantle and routinely enters country fair pastry contests.

Tai Chi
with Stephanie Dellavalle, Franklin County Adult Education
Tai Chi develops flexibility, strengthens joints and muscles and promotes the integration of body, mind and spirit through working towards learning a series of slow motion martial arts movements. Proven to improve balance, lower blood pressure and help with a series of physical ailments. Class will focus on learning the 1st several movements of the short form, with nei kung, eternal spring and meditation warm ups.
Allergy Relief Shower Steamer

Shower steamers are back, with a twist! This spring, Nancy will share how to make a shower steamer blend that will help offer relief for your springtime allergies.
Materials fee is $8, paid directly to the instructor.
Materials for class:

Becoming a Backyard Herbalist

This series of five workshops is created for those who have heard the call of the familiar strangers growing all around us. It is offered with the conviction that health begins at home, within our communities, and engaging in the work of “healing thyself” is every human’s birthright. If you want to begin working with plants to support your health and well-being, this course is for you! You will leave empowered and confident in your ability to work with some of our most common and beloved herbal allies safely and effectively. We will dive into the basics of plant energetics, identification, ethical harvesting practices, creating herbal remedies with ingredients you can find in your cupboards (or at the local grocery store), as well as how to keep excellent notes to preserve and pass down your personal herbal traditions. This class is perfect for absolute beginners, as well as those who may have already begun their herbal journey. All classes will be recorded for the convenience of those registered. Each attendee will receive an extensive 50-plus page booklet filled with plant profiles, recipes and formulas, instructions and techniques, blank forms, and helpful charts. Classes will be recorded and available for all registrants to download. No class April 16.

There is a special need for people who can care for infants, sibling groups, and adolescents, while also supporting the reunification process. There are also over 100 children waiting to find a forever family. Join us for this informational meeting and take that very first step to becoming a resource family.

Belly Dancing with Kitties - Session III

Come enjoy a weekly Belly Dance class with kitties! The class will be set up as Mixed Level. It would be good to have some prior belly dance experience, but all are welcome! The space is at Meow Lounge, so there will be cats in the dance area with us during the class. There will be a variety of moves to work on for those who have more experience. Anne Beal has been teaching Belly Dance (Middle Eastern Dance) for more than 15 years. She will be hosting her class in her Meow Cat Lounge.
