This is session four of the self defense class.  Please bring a mouthguard, wear comfortable clothing and indoor shoes.

Instructor Information: Amy Kitchin has been teaching self-defense at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy since 2009. She has been a corrections officer since 2006. Amy currently works at the Pittsfield Police Department. The goal of the clinic is to have participants leave feeling confident and be able to protect themselves.

Discuss ways you can modify your lawn and garden to support birds, bats, frogs, bees, butterflies and many other helpful animals and pollinators. Small changes in native plant cover can have huge impacts and increase the diversity of insects, birds and other wildlife visiting our yards; providing food for native birds indirectly by supporting native insects that birds can consume or directly by providing fruits and seeds. Collaborate with neighbors and amplify your impact by creating essential wildlife corridors. Tuition includes a starter kit and a video on growing native plants.

Linda Woodard, an avid bird watcher, has been Director of the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center for 18+ years. She has taught high school biology, bird watching, marsh ecology, and a wide variety of environmental topics.

This class will be part instruction, part discussion group and part investigation into the truth about how our original government was intended to operate by our founding fathers (and mothers) and what changes have taken place over the last 240 years. We will read and study the original founding documents; the Declaration of Independence, The Articles of Confederation and The Constitution, including The Bill of Rights. What are your unalienable rights? If you do not know your rights, you effectively have none. As Thomas Jefferson said, "Freedom is not free; the price you must pay for freedom is eternal vigilance." This vigilance requires “We the People” to keep a watchful eye on our government and be aware when our unalienable rights are being violated. It is becoming more and more uncertain that we are being governed by the constitution given to us by our founding fathers.

Reiki II is about "Emotional and Distant Healing". Considered the practitioners level, some take this degree to become practitioners, while others simply want to continue their own healing journey through Reiki. The two symbols given at this level are for emotional & distant healing of self and others. Student are trained to use the second degree keys (symbols) and to send long distance healing.
