You'll learn how to cast on, master the basic and purl stitches, learn some tips and tricks on repairing mistakes, and learn how to read a pattern! Vicky is a passionate knitter and always makes classes fun for her students.

Beginning Chinese: Level 2

Everything that we do in class has some element of culture and we will learn about the world of Chinese culture through the study of current events, literature, art, history and music using authentic sources.

StudioCraft Retreat

Join instructor Ed Higgins at the Chocolate Church in Bath for a very special 3-day artist’s retreat. You will not only have full access to the Chocolate Church’s new “Maker’s Space” to experiment, work, and evolve your process; but you’ll also learn some nuts and bolts studio skills to make your working experience better. Good StudioCraft gets you prepared for wherever your creativity might take you. Organization of tools, media, and surfaces helps put you in a state of readiness, and prevents the inertia that often plagues artists when facing the prospect of beginning a work session. So we’ll highlight things like stretching canvases, toning and preparing surfaces, brush organization, care and maintenance, mixing colors and saving them in empty tubes, assembling a field kit for your plein air work, and much more. Limited space available. Retreat schedule is WED 9-12pm, THU 1-4pm, & FRI 9-12pm.

Crocheting 101

NACE is excited to welcome back Elizabeth Chickering for a beginning crochet class! Beginner and experienced crocheters are welcome in this 4-week class. Beginners will start with a simple scarf project for which Elizabeth will provide the pattern. For more experienced crocheters, bring in your projects, and the instructor will assist as needed.

Supplies for beginners to bring include:
• One skein of yarn (about 3oz) of #4 (medium) weight yarn
• Size J and K crochet hooks
• Yarn needle

Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills or start a new project with purpose, this class is the perfect place to begin.

The finished quilt is 59x68 inches. You will need 2/14 yards of assorted fabric for theblocks. Fat quarters work well. Plains, spots, forlas, stries, etc and 60 assorted fabricstrips WOF. 3 3⁄4 yards backing, batting and 1⁄2 yard for the binding.

Join us for a fun and creative wire wrapping class where you’ll learn techniques to create your own beautiful wire-wrapped pieces - no matter your experience level! Whether you’re brand new or looking to sharpen your skills, this class is for you. There will be several projects to select from. Let’s get wrapping and make something magical together! All skill levels are welcome. Please bring round nose jewelry pliers with you if you have them, and you can bring your own stones if you’d like.

A materials fee of $10 per project is due to the instructor at the start of the class. Beth will also have additional jewelry kits available for purchase.
