Explore hand drumming through the traditional music of Guinea, West Africa. Alongside your fellow students and Master Village Drummer Namory Keita, play patterns and rhythms. This is an online, live class. 

In just a few hours, you can learn enough secrets of the trade togive you years of musical enjoyment. Learn to play piano theway professionals do-using chords. The chord method is LOTSof fun and dramatically easier to learn than reading notes. Feeincludes the online book, online follow up lessons, a recordingof the class and also an optional periodic question and answersession. Class is held online using zoom and is partly hands oninstruction and partly lecture demonstration.

Craig Coffman is an experienced piano and guitar instructor, professional pianist and music director.  He has over 30 years’ experience teaching piano privately. His piano and guitar seminars, offered through Community Colleges and Community Education Programs, have been attended by over 30,000 students throughout Arizona, Minnesota and the United States over the last 27 years.   He has a degree in Sociology from Illinois Wesleyan University in Illinois (where he also studied piano) and a Master of Divinity degree from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.

Basic Accounting Principles and Quickbooks Online During these three sessions, you will learn basic accounting principles and how to apply them to setting up QuickBooks online for a small business or organization. The design of the course is that you'll attend the class and also do 2-3 hours of work between sessions which greatly enhances your learning. For this workshop, you have the option to receive a yearlong subscription to QB online. Upon registration, the survey provided will provide information about this opportunity. This is a live online class using ZOOM. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey included in your automated receipt so the instructor can tailor the course to meet your needs. You will want to have Microsoft Excel on your computer for this workshop and many people find it helpful to have two monitors though it is certainly not necessary to benefit from the sessions. There are two ways to accomplish this: 1) attach an external screen to your computer (contact our program if you need technical assistance with that); 2) use two computers (one for Excel and the other for the ZOOM meeting.

Val is a lifelong business educator and academic advisor focused on helping enrich and enhance students' educational and life purposes. He is experienced in college management and, as an adult educator, having taught at the Mid-State College and Kennebec Valley Community College. His teaching experience covers over 45 years in the areas of computer applications, accounting, and Quickbooks training workshops.

Boat America is a National Association of Boating Law Administrators certificate class that offers an in-depth and interesting boating safety course, and provides the knowledge needed to obtain a boating certificate. Some insurance companies will also offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete this course. Introduction to Boating – Types of power boats, boating vocabulary, sailboats, paddle boats, powering boats, and engine types. Boating Law – Boat registration, regulations, hull identification numbers, required safety equipment, Federal boating law, state boating law, and reporting accidents. Safety Equipment – Life jackets, fire extinguishers, sound-producing devices, visual distress signals, anchors, and other safety equipment. Safe Operation and Navigation – Buoys and beacons, aids to navigation, navigation rules, docking, and the dangers of alcohol on the water. As a Gray Whale Census Biologist and Biological Illustrator I look closely, observe, and transfer what I see onto a two-dimensional surface.  The more we look deeply, the more we notice, the more information we can transfer and express.  Apply the Elements, Line, Shape, Value, and Texture to Draw what you see.  Use a magnified glass and your power of observation to draw natural objects.

Materials Fee:  $25 (If you have not taken her classes before).
