This 10-week course will start with the basics of knife skills and progress to fine dining. Students will sit for the national Kitchen Manager certification towards the end of their class in addition to earning an AMSA Meat Selection and Cookery certificate. This course will also include the Southwest Airlines Professional Communication credential. 

The classes will be held Monday-Thurday 9 am - 2 pm.

Curling is sometimes referred to as chess on ice, where players use skill and strategy to slide polished granite stones to a target 150 feet away, and using curling brooms to influence the path of the stones. Learn to curl in one two hour session at the Belfast Curling Club and have fun playing this Winter Olympic sport. Wear loose comfortable clothing, dress in layers (you're on ice) and bring a separate pair of clean soled sneakers. Register with Belfast Curling Club only. Today, every school in America has students who have been diagnosed with ASD (Austim Spectrum Disorder)—a neurological disorder on the autism spectrum. The effects of this disorder vary widely, but it is important for every teacher to understand how to recognize behaviors that may indicate ASD. In this course, you take away strategies for working effectively with ASD students. And you will find out how to work effectively with parents to create the most positive learning environments for children and teens with this disorder. The course is geared for K-12 teachers, but it is also relevant for counselors, faculty in higher education, parents and anyone else interested in understanding this important issue. 3 Grad Credits (Optional): From Framingham State University, a leading provider of K-12 teacher training. Requirements are to complete the four Unit Quizzes at 80% level (you may retake them til you reach 80%); make at least one comment in each of the four Unit discussions; and write a 1-2 page paper based on the course, submitting it within two weeks after the course ends. You will explore several unique approaches to research, learn strategies for gathering and storing materials in one easily accessible place, and delve into ways to illustrate your memoir even if you are not an artist. Polishing your work for publication and presenting it in a public format are other video topics. You will leave the course well equipped to begin your writing adventure.
