Homemade Pasta Anyone?

It's easier than you think!

Make pasta sheets for lasagna noodles, ravioli, and tortellini with common kitchen ingredients. Watch demos on filling and folding and cook some filled pastas to enjoy with a browned butter and sage sauce or en brodo (in chicken broth). Chef Mary will bring a traditional family recipe to enjoy as a special treat. This is a demonstration class, however, students are welcome to either watch or put on an apron and get their hands dirty. Recipes provided. Bring an apron, baggies for leftovers and your appetite!

Mary Bailey, pastry chef and past owner/chef of Thyme and Honey Bakery in Biddeford, is passionate about baking bread and teaching people how to incorporate homemade bread into their daily lives.

Low Back Relief Yoga Workshop

This workshop is designed to help strengthen and stretch the low back and abdominal muscles.  These two muscle groups work together to form a strong core to support our whole body.  The poses that we learn will also open the hips and stretch the back and whole body.  We will learn many poses that can be practiced at home. Join us and learn some poses that can help relieve your tension.  All levels are welcome.  Information learned through yoga classes and workshops should not be considered a substitute for medical advice.

You have seen these tall wood signs propped up on people’s front entrances. Now you can make them yourself. These signs are 48” tall and 9.5” wide. You get to choose ahead of time your stencil design with many seasonal and holiday designs to choose from and your projects background paint/stain color. When you arrive to class you get to do all the fun stuff. There will be a lot of paint colors to choose from to make your project your own. The class is instructor-led, so you will have the experience of Gabrielle to guide you along the way. Learn how to avoid those nasty bleeds on your project and stencil with confidence. When you leave, you take home that evening a beautiful project.  Materials fee of $20 (cash please) is payable to the instructor at class.

Contemporary Line Dance (Session 2)

Line dancing is accessible to everyone, fun for all, and no partner is needed! This will not be strictly country line dancing as a wide range of music will be used. Chair Yoga

This gentle yoga class offers all the benefits of yoga without the need to get down to (and up from) the floor. Yoga postures are adapted for practicing seated or standing using the chair for support when needed. You will be guided through yoga postures and breathing/relaxation techniques with a focus on releasing tension, improving flexibility, and creating mindfulness. All levels welcome, no prior experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement and bring an extra layer.

Jessy Lynn Ostara, a 500-hour Certified Yoga Instructor, has years of experience teaching several movement modalities. Her concentration is in meditative Belly Dance, Yin, Hatha and Chair yoga. She is also a certified meditation teacher through ShivaShakti school of Yoga and Healing Arts.
