Act/React: Listening, Memorization & Movement on Stage

$29

with Joseph Coté, Five Town CSD Adult & Community Education

Calendar Mar 4, 2024 at 6 pm, runs for 6 weeks

Once the process of sharply focused character study and nuanced character "building" combine with a clear understanding of your character's relationships with others and your scene-by-scene journey through the play, the time comes to add the practical tasks of memorization of the playwright's words and the director's mapped movements of characters on the stage. Finally, the most challenging meter of difference: listening and reacting to add "in the moment" immediacy and the speaking of your lines as if for the first time, every time. The first two sessions of the course will focus on exploring the practical skills of memorization and movement; the remaining four sessions will fine-tune listening skills and target the ultimate element of "act/REACT". (Exercise scenes will be supplied.)
