NIA Dance Fitness

Nia is an energizing barefoot cardio workout that connects you to your body, mind, and soul. Through Nia, you can safely explore and enhance your potential to live a healthy and meaningful life by engaging your senses and listening to your body. Nia combines dance, martial arts, and mindful movement to leave you energized, mentally clear, and emotionally balanced. Nia is non-impact and adaptable to individual needs and abilities. Each class starts with setting a focus. We will then warm up, dance our hearts out, and cool down, followed by stepping back out into daily life. Anna Fiedler is a certified Nia blue belt teacher who has taught Nia since 2007. She enjoys creating space for others to connect together to tap into their power and well-being through movement.

In this class we will expand upon the basics and learn how to make your dance more dynamic with cool patterns, variations, along with styling variations for both leaders and followers. Just need to know your basic West Coast Swing patterns. This is a great follow on to the Level 1 basics course.

Since this class is being held online with ZOOM you will be able to sit at your piano or keyboard at home and take this course with no pressure at all. And since this course includes an online book and online follow up video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own. An optional periodic online question and answer session is also included. A recording of the class is included as well. The course is partly lecture/demonstration and partly hands on instruction.

And since the class includes an online book and online follow-up video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own.  An optional periodic online question-and-answer session is included. A recording of the class is included as well.  The class is limited to 15 students. For ages 13+.

Contemporary Line Dancing

Line Dancing is accessible to everyone, fun for all, and no partner is needed. This class will not be strictly country line dancing as a wide range of music will be used. Students who have done jazz and ballroom dancing will enjoy this form too. We will begin with simple line dances and add more complex patterns.
