SUMMER Credit Recovery Classes

Credit recovery is a program that gives high school students who have previously attempted a course—but not earned credit—a way to try again!
SUMMER credit recovery classes, students redo what they didn’t master the first time, so they learn the skills they will need in life while completing required courses and getting back on track for receiving their high school diplomas on time.

Photography Workshop Puffin & Lighthouse Tour

This 3 part workshop starts with a live online session, an awesome field session on the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company Puffin & LighthouseTour and ends with an online share.Learn about camera settings, aperture, shutter speed, compositional techniques and more!

Art Camp TOTEM & COSMOS

Kids ages 6-9 will use their favorite colors to create a totem project and a cosmos painting using acrylic paints and glitter!

Your instructor, Chris Toy is the author of 6 popular cookbooks, a private chef, and has taught Asian-fusion cooking for several Maine community education programs. Cooking students will learn how to prepare a variety of recipes from Asia, Europe, and the Americas incorporating traditional and local ingredients. Each meal will actively engage cooks with the tools, techniques, and stories behind the dishes being created. All meals are included in the workshop fee as well as specially planned optional evening activities designed to extend your learning from the day’s workshops.
Considered Mid-coast Maine’s premier oceanfront campground, on the shores of Penobscot Bay, located between bustling Bar Harbor (Acadia National Park) and charming Camden village, you can find nearby motels, tenting, RV, and cabins overlooking the ocean. Behavioral Health Professional Training & Certificate Program (BHP) JULY 20 & 21

Our community is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life. A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) makes an impact on a child while helping them learn to grow and develop. This ONLINE training program will equip you with ways to help children who are currently on a wait list for services and will also prepare you for employment through local social services agencies.
Work at your own pace completing 12 online modules prior to attending three 4-hour live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training. Once the modules and live sessions are completed, you will receive links to bloodborne pathogen training and virtual First Aid & CPR training. The entire program requirements will take about 45 hours to complete. Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course may register.

BUYING YOUR FIRST HOME, Summer Session

This ME hoMEworks class covers the process of buying a home: deciding, budgeting for homeownership, building credit, mortgage approval, choosing your realtor, inspections, insurance, the closing process, energy efficiency, and avoiding predatory lenders. Learn about the down payment and closing cost assistance available to first-time homebuyers, veterans, and others. Earn a Certificate of Completion required for certain mortgage programs, including USDA, ME State Housing Authority, and other lenders. Free individualized counseling is available following the class. Please have a pen and notepad available. Note: Register the person you are buying your home with at the time of your registration and get a $10 rebate. Required: You must respond to the email from YCCAC to finalize registration and receive online link.
