American Red Cross First Aid-Session 2

Lighthouse Health and Safety brings you this one-night American Red Cross course. This will prepare you to recognize and carefor a variety of emergencies including breathing and cardiac emergencies, burns, cuts, heat and cold emergencies, stroke, diabetic emergencies and other sudden illnesses and meets OSHA requirements. Students who successfully complete this coursewill receive an American Red Cross certificate valid for two years. Minimum of five per session.

Firearms Hunter Safety

The State of Maine approved firearms course is required to obtain a hunting license.  Students must attend all three classes to complete the course.  Register early as the class fills up fast!  

Students must be at least 10 years old to participate in this class.  Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. 

This class will be held on Thursday, April 16th, Wednesday, April 29th  and Thursday, April 30th at Spruce Mountain High School Cafeteria from 6 - 9 pm. 

 

 

Mastering Your Fitness Level

Learn to listen to your body for what it wants and needs. Using Kripalu Yoga techniques, learn your own version of postures with modifications as needed. Yoga helps with stress relief; better breathing; increase in strength and flexibility; improved circulation; cardiovascular conditioning; inner peace and more. (All classes will be designed to meet the needs of Beginning yogis and Advanced Beginners practicing yoga). Drop ins welcome @ $10/class. Bring a mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Put a Spring in Your Health and Make-Up Routine (Afternoon)

Everything comes alive in the Spring.  After a long winter, you become more physically active and spend more time outdoors. Learn about Health and Weight-Loss products for your new, more active life. Also, learn about Skin-Care and Make-up for the Spring/Summer and experience trying the colors of Spring/Summer. 

When you arrive, plan to remove any make-up that you have on.  The class will start with the application of a Volcanic Exfoliating Mask, followed by a moisturizer for your skin type.  $5 per person, payable to the instructor at the class.  Contact Julia Adams (julia_adams@msad40.org) before the class so you can learn how to take a SkinCare Analysis and be ready to try the moisturizer that is best for your skin type.

Julia Adams has been teaching Special Ed for 46 years. In her spare time, she has had her own business since 2006, showing people how to use Motives make-up and explaining how Isotonix vitamin/mineral supplements enhance health.  She also enjoys making her own skincare products and is happy to share that information.

Basic Fly Casting

Instructor – Kevin Tracewski, Registered Maine Guide & Author of best-selling book, A Fisherman’s Guide to Maine

The goal of this course is to provide students with the casting skills necessary to fish effectively on your own. This is a “hands-on” course, so your time will be spent with a fly rod in hand, working on your own casting. Most instruction will be done in small groups, but casting suggestions will also be offered on an individual basis. Videotape analysis of your casting stroke will be provided. Students are encouraged to use their own fly rod and reel, but equipment will be available for anyone who needs it.  Please do not buy new equipment just to take this course. 

$65 for 6 hour session. Saturday 9 a.m.–3 p.m.  April 18, 2020.  Location TBD.
