CPR & BLS (Advanced)

CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support) This is an advanced course for people in public service as a paid or volunteer first rsponder. Enhance your basic CPR and AED skills learning how to better manage breathing, airways and drug overdoses.  Course meets requirements for first responders, lifeguards and others who may need or want more advanced medical training. Course fee includes American Heart Association CPR card. (This instructor is AHA and ASHI Certified) 


Barre Bootcamp Session 4

This is an online course using ZOOM.

Barre Bootcamp is a low impact workout that will produce a big burn! Barre combines elements of strength training, Pilates/Yoga and dance. Small movements and many reps will help sculpt and tone muscles you didn’t even know you had!

Equipment that will be used include: a chair or countertop or something to hold onto, light hand weights, versa loop, gliding disks for hardwood floors (or use socks or face cloth) for carpet floors (or use paper plate), bender ball (or equivalent). These sessions will be recorded and available to registrants for one-week after each class.


Gentle Beginner Hatha Yoga - 7 Week

Join us for a class in Hatha Yoga led by certified instructor, Nancy Cotty from Peace Within Yoga. Yoga is a great way to relax and improve your health and well being. The focus will be on stretching and breathing while building our strength and finding peace. All levels are welcome. Drop-ins are welcome and new students can join anytime. All equipment will be provided for you. Information learned through yoga classes and workshops should not be considered a substitute for medical advice.

We partner with the quality facility Durgin Pines to help you learn the caring skills you need to earn your certificate and employment. 

Online Class is: March 13 - April 6

Classes will be on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays 8am-2pm

In-person at Durgin Pines: 

LAB: 8am-4pm April 17; 9am-1pm April 18; 8am-4pm April 22

CLINICAL: 6:45am-3:15pm April 24, 25, 27, May 1, 3

Please note: This is not an actual registration for the class. You must complete an orientation and assessment. 

The dates for orientation and assessment are: 

Tues 3/7 @ 6pm

Wed 3/8 @ 6pm

Thurs 3/9 @ 10am

You must have confirmation from Buffy (207-344-3879) at Durgin Pines in order to be officially registered for the class. Continuum employees have preferred seating.

Introduction to Mindfulness

The word "mindfulness" is popping up in all kinds of places these days - in education, healthcare, corporate board rooms, and even in the NFL and NBA. What exactly is mindfulness and why practice it? This workshop gives you an overview of mindfulness including a brief history, benefits (including stress reduction), and the opportunity to experience a variety of mindfulness practices with a special emphasis on how you can use thes practices in your everyday life.
