CPR Heartsaver & First Aid

Calendar May 11, 2024 at 9 am, runs for 1 week

Acquire the critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking, or sudden cardiac arrest until emergency medical services arrive. Learn to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, and other first-aid emergencies. CPR and AED for Adults, Children, and infants.  Certification is good for 2 years and meets most requirements for advisors, camp counselors, and basic care providers.  The course fee includes American Heart Association CPR card. (This instructor is AHA and ASHI Certified).

There is a $40 materials fee for supplies, and books.

We are the focal point in Cumberland and York counties for resources, services and information, to empower older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers to live to their fullest potential. Join us as we go over available services and activities to include adult day programming, benefit checks and application assistance, Medicare counseling, money management, caregiver education and support, volunteer opportunities, physical wellness classes, and nutrition services to include Meals on Wheels.

Pickleball for Beginners - MS

Have you tried Pickle Ball yet? It is fun, social, and an exercise sport that you can do for a lifetime. You will learn the forehand, back-hand, serve, volley, and overhead strokes in a fun and supportive environment. It’s fun for friends to join together, or join and make new friends! Bring a pickleball paddle if you have one. There will be a few to borrow during class time. Please wear proper footwear-- the instructor recommends court or tennis shoes and preferably pickleball shoes. There will be no class if it is raining or the court is wet. Rain makeup classes will be held the following Sunday 2:30PM - 4:00PM. There will be no class on Monday, May 27, but wewill hold class on Wednesday, May 29, as a make-up. Invite a friend to join you! Limit 8 students.

Learn about adult, child and infant CPR and AED use, adult, child and infant choking, and how and when to call emergency services. Course includes use of manikins, video, certified instruction, practical components, and a certificate of completion. Practical time has been increased to ensure you have enough time to gain confidence in your skills. Optional workbook is available for $10 (cash please) from instructor at class.

Yoga helps with stress relief; better breathing; increase in strength and flexibility; improved circulation; cardiovascular conditioning; inner peace and more. (All classes will be designed to meet the needs of Beginning yogis and Advanced Beginners practicing yoga). Bring a mat and wear comfortable clothes.
