Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED APRIL 8

This course is geared towards anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. A video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency services arrive.
This course uses AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the learning of skills. Students receive a course completion card, valid for two years! Pick the date that works for you when you register.

Pickleball for Beginners

Learn the basics of the fast growing sport of Pickleball. Easy to learn well enough in a short time to have fun, get exercise, fresh air and find people to play with. Paddles are provided for classes. All classes will be held on the Pegasus Courts' at 126 Pegasus Street at Brunswick Landing. Instructor Barbara Rondeau is a former tennis pro who took up Pickleball 7 years ago and has been teaching ever since. *For Session II: No Class 5/27.

Shoulder pain and injury has a lot to do with muscle weakness and muscle imbalance. Avoid pain and injury and come work on your upper body strength! Get those arms and upper back/core strong and flexible. All classes are taught by therapists and they can easily provide modifications if needed. Classes held at Hermon Covey Physical Therapy - 2263 RT. 2, Hermon, ME. Six classes per session. To be considered registered, class fee must be paid in full.

Pumped Up Strength

Pumped Up Strength is a new approach to resistance training. Utilizing combination movement patterns in a targeted, rhythmic progression, its superpower is the dynamic integration of upper and lower body movements set to fun music. The result? A sweat-drenched, functionally efficient workout that will challenge your body in new ways, improve lean muscle mass, and rev your metabolism. In these classes you will want a set of hand weights anywhere from 5–15lbs. *All virtual classes are recorded and sent to students for practice.

Tai-Chi is one of SVACE’s longest-running classes which has experienced some gradual and wonderful changes over the years. It is now led by loyal volunteers who are willing to lead, learn, and practice the Yang Style 24 Form, the 40 Form, and the Qigong warm-ups for all attendees. Bring water and comfortable footwear. Please pre-register as a minimum of 8 people is required to run the course.

Personal Safety for Older Adults: Feel Safer in Your Life and Expand Your Horizons

Do you feel like your life has become smaller than you’d like it to be? Are you hesitant to expand your horizons due to concerns about your safety? Then this class is for you. Gain confidence, awareness, and verbal and physical skills to address challenging interactions in public, online, with family or service providers. From advocating for yourself with medical personnel to gaining physical defensive skills, the tools taught are practical, accessible, and effective. Participate at the level that works best for you. A great experience to share with a friend! Open to older adults of all genders and identities. (“older” can refer to age though this class is also for anyone who is feeling less able to experience the world with the freedom they wish.)
