Meditation is an ancient wellness practice that focuses on training awareness, attention, and compassion.  Research has found that meditation can reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus and concentration, and increase feelings of calm and relaxation.  The good news is anyone can do it.  It's a simple practice to pick up - but, it does take practice & consistency to feel the benefits. 

This class is a combination of 3 in person classes at Traip Academy and 2 remote sessions over ZOOM.

5 Wednesday sessions

In person: March 13, 20 & April 10, 6:30-7:30pm

Remote: March 27 & April 3, 6:30-7:30pm

Walking Club - Hampden Academy 

Too cold, dark and slippery outside to walk? Join our indoor walking club. Please change out of your boots into a good pair of walking shoes. Stay on the ground level or challenge yourself by walking between the first and second floors. This is an independent program with no instruction provided.

CHAIR YOGA

Gain the benefits of yoga exercise without being on the floor! The chair is used as your foundation and support. This program is beneficial to all, regardless of age or flexibility. Simple stretching, guided breathing, and individual adjustments aid in gaining strength, balance, and vitality. Bring water for hydration. You may also bring a mat to place under your chair if you would like. Please pre-register as we need a minimum of 4 people to run the course.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Explore classical and creative yoga poses flowing in conjunction with breath.  Class will begin with centering exercises, move through traditional Sun Salutations, and flow into standing sequences linking breath with movement. 

We wind down with cooling postures and blissful Savasana (rest to absorb practice).  With a focus on strength, balance, and flexibility—always maintaining proper alignment and safety—you can expect to leave feeling refreshed and a bit sweaty! 

Suitable for all levels, but you must be able to participate in one hour of physical activity independently.  Participants will need a yoga mat, two yoga blocks, and one blanket.

MARCH 28 & 29 8am-12:30pm VIRTUAL BHP LIVE DAY!

Our community is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life.

A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) makes an impact on a child while helping them learn to grow and develop. This BLENDED training program (online modules and a live, instructor-led, virtual session) will equip you with ways to help children who are in need of services and will also prepare you for employment through local social services agencies.

Work at your own pace completing 12 online modules prior to attending the live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training. Once the modules and live sessions are completed, you will receive links to bloodborne pathogen training and Child and Adult First Aid & CPR training. The entire program requirements will take about 45 hours to complete. Individuals must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent to register.

MSAD 52 & Woodfords are partnering to offer this course.
