Fly Fishing Canoe Adventure
with Colonel J.R. Mosher, United Technologies Center - Adult Education
This four-week (two hours per week) course is designed to enable 20 students to catch Maine native fish using fly rods and flies they have tied, while negotiating the Kennebec River in their own canoe. Course includes: basic fly tying, fly casting for river fishing, preparing native fish for meals, introduction to the canoe, river canoeing practical exercise, and a team Kennebec fishing adventure. American Sign Language
with Julie Novack, Noble Adult & Community Education
Join us to learn sign language basics in this 4-week course meeting twice a week! It is designed to provide immediate access to functional sign language with skills targeting conversational exchanges. Vocabulary will be tailored to the specific needs of the students and their target occupation. No prior knowledge of sign language is necessary.

Barre with Amanda

Barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements.

73% of what we communicate to other people is through our body language and facial expressions. We may say one thing, but “project” a different message. Learn the art of body language and you'll get your message across!
Boys and Girls Soccer Camp-Grades 3-8
with Don Beckwith/ Ryan Hurley, Maranacook Adult Education
For players with experience, advanced training on tactics and game situations will be provided. Each camper should have their own soccer ball, soccer cleats, sneakers, shin guards (required), labeled water bottle, snacks, and sunscreen. It is also strongly suggested that campers bring extra socks. Previous soccer experience is required.

Boys' Black Bear Basketball Camp Grades 4-8
with Rob Schmidt, Maranacook Adult Education
Campers learn the fundamental of defense including stance and positioning and develop individual offensive skills. Daily activities include individual help stations, lectures, games, and competitions. Each camper should bring a snack and labeled water bottle. Dress in athletic shorts, t-shirt or tank, and socks as well as basketball sneakers. Coach Schmidt has been the boy’s varsity basketball coach at Maranacook HS for 16 years leading teams to three KVAC and two state championships.
Instructors: Coach Rob Schmidt, various assistant coaches, and current MCHS players.

Cardio Sculpt for Women
with Lisa Robertson, York Adult & Community Education
This judgement-free zone is intended to get women of all fitness levels moving and healthy. A fun, balanced and effective workout that includes short cardio bursts and weight lifting to improve muscular fitness and boost cardiovascular efficiency. Using a variety of exercises and equipment, this class will keep participants moving and loving it from March through May.
