Flower Painting: Coneflowers and Daisies

Spend the evening brightening up the winter by creating a beautiful bouquet of flowers that never fades.  Learn to paint basic brush strokes that create flowers in no time.  Working with acrylic paints on a canvas board lets you take your bouquet home. Flower Painting: Queen Anne’s Lace

Bring a bit of summer into your home with a picture of Queen Anne’s Lace, Veronica, and Gomphrena.  Learn the stippling method to create wonderfully wispy flowers that enchant the eye.  Additional flowers can be added If the student has taken the daisy and coneflower class.  Class includes the paint, brushes, and canvas board.

 

Fly Fishing - Basic Fly Casting

The goal of this course is to provide students with the casting skills necessary to fish effectively on your own. This is a “hands-on” course, so your time will be spent with a fly rod in hand, working on your own casting. Most instruction will be done is small groups, but casting suggestions will also be offered on an individual basis. Videotape analysis of your casting stroke will be provided. Students are encourage to use their own fly rod and reel, but equipment will be available for anyone who needs it. Please do not buy new equipment just to take this course.  Makeup class (if needed) Sunday 04/04/19.

This course will be taught in Orono by Registered Maine Guide Kevin Tracewski. 

Directions will be sent to registered students. 

Fly Fishing Made Easy

Discover what makes fly casting work, how to choose the right system and how to properly match and balance all the components of your system. The typical fly-casting system consists of a rod, reel, backing line, leader and tippet. Learn and practice basic casting strokes including back, forward and roll casts. Understand how to prevent or cure common casting problems. Equipment is available, or bring your own. INSTRUCTOR: Ron St. Saviour is a Registered Master Maine Guide in Outdoor Recreation and a Licensed Professional Maine Forester. He is also the founder and director of Southern Maine Guide Service “Outdoor School”, a unique alternative education program.
