Join Five Town CSD Adult Ed participants for a day-long adventure in Salem, Massachusetts. We will arrive late morning to begin your day of adventures in the historic city of Salem, Mass. Salem has much to offer whether it be witches, or pirates, the Pioneer Village, or the world-famous Peabody Essex Museum. Hop aboard the Salem Trolley for a tour of the city. Visit Pickering Wharf with its many unique shops, the House of Seven Gables, or Ye Olde Pepper company, the oldest candy shop in America. Walk along the historic streets of Salem, home to the infamous 1692 witch trials. For foodies, there are no less than 60 restaurants, coffee shops, and cafes to sample. Maps and information packets will be provided so you can plan your own individual adventure. Departs CHRHS 7:00 am arrive back at CHRHS at 9:00 pm. Pickups at MVHS in Waldoboro, Great Salt Bay School in Newcastle, and the Park & Ride in Yarmouth. Rest stop at Kennebunk Plaza. Transportation provided by Northeast Charter and Tour. Tour leaders are the ever popular Marlene Hall and Barbara Hendricks. No refunds after 10/7.

This customized course combines our popular ACT and SAT test prep into one low cost price. This course will prepare you for all question types found on both the ACT and SAT using test-taking techniques taught to thousands of college bound students around the world. We will analyze each of the test question areas and give special consideration given to math and verbal refreshers and techniques aimed at relieving test-taking anxiety. You will practice on actual ACT and SAT tests from previous years, and we fully explain and interpret the correct and incorrect answers in an online or live lecture format.

SAT:  Topics include effective word usage, grammar, and reading comprehension for the verbal sections; techniques for the science reasoning section; and basic and advanced math concepts (including fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, proportions) and algebraic and geometric concepts for the math section.

ACT:  Topics include command of evidence, words in context, information and ideas, rhetoric and synthesis questions for the reading section, expression of ideas, grammar and Standard English conventions for the writing section, essay writing for the optional essay, and basic and advanced math concepts (including fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and proportions) and algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric concepts for the math sections.

In this class, we will take your precious memories and learn the easiest ways to do this. It’s easier than you think, and doable at any age! Your grandchildren will thank you!

Series 1: You'll learn the basics of technology - scanning, using a flash drive, dealing with public computers, transferring things to your own device, and editing photos.

Series 2: You'll learn about storing pictures, describing and labeling the. You will also learn how to acess and store photos in an online environment. This is done in a private online area.

Registration is limited to the first 8 people per session. Please verify which session you are signing up for.

Scone Home-A Night of Scone Delights

You do not need to be ET to make a wonderful scone! If you have had flat or tough dry scones this might be just the class you have been waiting for. Debra will show you step by step how to make light and tender Chocolate Cherry Scones, Apricot Ginger Scones, Cranberry Orange Scones and Bacon, Cheddar & Chive Scones as well as classic basic scones. This class will be participatory and samples of all items will be tasted and the rest divided among the class. Soooo...get a friend to sign up with you and enjoy the evening! Remember to bring your apron and an empty container to store all that you will take home.  A material fee of $10.00 is included in the registration fee.
