Mocktails (mixed drinks made entirely without alcohol) are quickly growing in popularity and are a great way to add a little flair to your next event. In this class, explore a variety of mocktail-ready ingredients made right here in Maine - syrups, shrubs, infusions, flavored sugars and more - and learn how to turn them into beautiful non-alcoholic drinks that are sure to impress. After learning about the ingredients and the Maine producers who made them, attendees will get hands-on with mocktail mixology. Enjoy a demonstration featuring several special recipes before trying your hand at making (and tasting!) your own. All materials and recipes will be provided. Learn the tricks of this classic holiday confection in this Saturday workshop. Make your own gingerbread dough, cut out your pieces, bake and assemble. We will break for lunch, then when we return to class we will decorate your gingerbread house to take home, display, and enjoy for the holidays. Materials fee of $35.00 is due by cash or check, payable to the instructor, at the start of class.

Participants will learn how to season, care for, and use a Chinese wok and cleaver. The recipes for the class will include stir-frying, oven roasting, and preparing steamed rice. Each student will take home a specially selected kit including a lightweight cast iron wok, wok spatula, carbon steel cleaver, honing steel, a heavy duty cutting board, and one of Chris Toy's 6 cookbooks.
