Taiji Qigong Shibashi for Body, Breath and Mind Connection

This 21 week course is designed to be easy and safe to learn. Taiji Qigong Shibashi is an effective exercise blending the gentle and fluid art of Taiji with the strength of Qigong producing potent health benefits. The wavelike, fluid motions of the form stimulate the flow of qi and blood throughout the entire body. Because of its many health benefits and its efficiency it is a part of the curriculum in most Chinese Medicine Universities throughout China. In this course we will explore how anatomical alignment facilitates deeper breathing and a meditative mindset. Practicing Shibashi will balance your Qi, improving your wellbeing and the quality of your life.

Fall Plein Air: Field Sketching and Painting

As we did last year, plein air season continues into the fall! We’ll need up at various scenic locations around the midcoast. There is only one outdoor class in the fall with Ed Higgins, so sign up early. Artists may work in any media, but it is suggested you travel light and work in a field journal or on small panels. We’ll work outside, enjoying the fall colors unless the weather drives us indoors. There is no set materials list for this class. Beginning Ceramics

Ever wanted to take some time for yourself and play with clay? Learn the basics of hand building and wheel throwing in this 6 week class. This class is geared toward the beginner. The first 10 people to sign up have priority on the wheel. Please let admins know if you prefer to hand build or wheel throw so we can keep an accurate account. Glazing will also be covered so that you can leave with finished pieces. $65 materials fee is due to the instructor on the first night of class. *Purchasing additional clay: The fee is an additional $65 to cover the firing, glazes and other consumables used during class. Please note: If you miss a class, you cannot make-up the class at another time. The ceramics schedule is very tight and these classes are usually full. Glass Mosaic Lampshade

Brighten up your space by mosaicing your own small pendant lamp! The first two classes we will break, arrange and glue glass to the lampshades. Third class we will grout and finish. A material fee of $35 must be paid to the instructor on the first night of class. Materials fee includes lamp kit and everything you’ll need to complete the project. Some mosaic experience recommended. Tools provided for in class use.

Are you comfortable with your clay abilities and just looking for a place to work and improve your skills? Join us in the Morse High School Ceramics Studio and start making all those things you have been dreaming up! This is not an instructor lead class, but the instructor will be on site working in case you need something. $65 for materials and studio fee, payable to instructor, must be paid on the first night of class. *Purchasing additional clay: The fee is an additional $65 to cover the firing, glazes and other consumables used during class. This program is appropriate for people of all ages, genders, and body types. You can move at your own pace and have a great time. Gentle Yoga w/ Heather

This class is designed for new, as well as, seasoned yogis looking for a mindful, gentle practice.
