Dr. Paul Lam combines his medical and Tai Chi expertise to create a very therapeutic tool with this short program. It is an easy program that anyone can learn. It was designed to help folks recover from stress, tiredness, injury, surgical procedures, and stroke, while improving balance, focus, and coordination. Self-management is the most empowering way to take control of your health and wellness. This rehabilitation program is a great start!

Come, be safe, have fun, and relax!

Loose, comfortable clothing and flat-bottom shoes suitable for exercise are recommended.

You can learn this program seated or standing.

Through the movements of Tai Chi and relaxed breathing you will cultivate, store, and circulate your internal energy. The movements are non-impact, smooth, and practiced very slowly at first. Western research has shown improvements in heart, bone, and muscle strength, as well as large reductions in the effects of stress, and an improvement in overall balance, with regular practice. This is the 23rd continuous year of Tai Chi classes through the Five Town Adult Education program!

Beginner skills will focus class participants to make fused glass objects. From the ground level up, build skills including creating your own design for your project object, glass materials manipulation, and basic kiln-program understanding necessary to learn the fine-tuning art of kilnwork. In this course, students will be melting glass into planned art pictures, designs, and shapes.The registration fee includes all materials.

OOB History at the Historical Society Section 1

Join volunteers from the Old Orchard Beach Historical Society at the Harmon Memorial Museum, home to numerous exhibits pertaining to Old Orchard Beach, including "Museum in the Streets," which depicts twenty-eight past and present views of OOB. Discover the history of the Pier, views and highlights of Ocean Park, and a Salvation Army display. Visit the Fire Room, which displays major fires from 1904 to the present, or view pictures of Charles Lindbergh's historic landing. These are just a few of the items of interest you'll see as you enjoy learning about OOB's storied past!

Taking photos of the displays is prohibited.

Metered parking available on Old Orchard St, free parking on Adelaide St, or in the lot behind OOB Town Hall (for the duration of the course only).

*Donations are not required but are accepted for the upkeep and maintenance of the museum and its collection.

W. Warren Harmon was active within the OOB community from 1915–1952 and wore many hats, including town treasurer, auditor, moderator, and superintendent of schools, as well as lifelong involvement in many local organizations. His home was bequeathed to the community in 1974 for exclusive use by the historical society and designated as the Harmon Memorial Museum.

"Learn how to get the most out of your Windows 11 computer. In this 3 week class you will learn about the operating system, navigating the desktop and taskbar, the File Explorer, working with files, using Microsoft Edge and so much more."
