Organic Gardening: Successful Culinary Herb Growing

Grow your own productive herb garden!
Learn how to grow, harvest, preserve, and USE a wonderful variety of culinary herbs.
We’ll review how to grow herbs well and how to use many as companion plants in your garden.
We’ll then learn how to maximize your harvest by understanding the growth habits of each plant. This will include some hands on pruning to practice harvesting each plant correctly.
Preserving your herbs, using several different methods, will then give you the pleasure of having them available year round!
Resources will include recipes for easy and delicious uses as well as more complicated blends to enjoy!

Personal Cyber Security

Discuss the various concepts of cyber security and how it relates to ensuring security of personal information, finances, and property. Topics will include: types of security threats, anti-virus and firewall products, securing operating systems, applications, and accounts, securing networks and VPN products, local network integrated physical security devices. Classroom computers are provided in the classroom, but participants may choose to bring their own laptop, devices (with Excel 2013 or newer installed).
Sailboat Racing - NEW RULES FOR 2025!!

Principal Race Officer Tom Brown brings his 20+ years in the Committee Boat to this course covering yacht racing and the the New, Updated Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2025-2028. Sail handling, trim, and choices are discussed. Tactics, Conduct of a Race, Scoring and the Appendices are also on the table. New and seasoned racers alike will benefit from lively discussions and on-the-race-course examples. The course is geared to the sailors in the classroom.

Thai Cooking: Beyond The Basics

Learn how to use different Thai spices to prepare the Thai favorite ‘Haw Mok’ (seafood or chicken steamed in curried coconut milk), using ingredients which can easily be purchased at your local supermarket. We’ll cook, eat, listen to authentic Thai music, and ensure you have some Haw Mok left to take home with you! We may also have time to cook some "Tom Yum Kung" (sweet and sour soup with spicy chicken or shrimp). Join us for this special one-night workshop. All materials included.
