Microsoft Excel Power Tools

Power Query allows you to import and shape data. It has an easy to use interface, powerful tools to import and clean data. Power Pivot allows data modeling and calculations. It easily handles millions of rows of data and has modeling tools for efficient data storage and analysis. Power BI (Business Intelligence) is a complete business intelligence tool. It features incredible visual options, has simple built-in interactive options, fantastic graphs and allows easy sharing of data. The design of this course includes 2-3 hours of work with the software between sessions to gain maximum benefit from the sessions. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey included in your automated receipt so the instructor can tailor the course to meet your needs. You will want to have Microsoft Excel on your computer for this workshop and many people find it helpful to have two monitors though it is certainly not necessary to benefit from the sessions. There are two ways to accomplish this: 1) attach an external screen to your computer (contact our program if you need technical assistance with that); 2) using two computers (one for Excel and the other for the ZOOM meeting.

This introductory 7-week course is for those entering the eDiscovery field, as well as professionals wanting to broaden their knowledge of the eDiscovery process. Course covers the entire eDiscovery process, from preparation to collection, to review of Electronically Stored Information (ESI). Learners will progress through the basics of eDiscovery prep, best practices for ESI collection, and the review process.

Legal Nurse Consultant Training Course

This is an online course. This class can be taken anytime, anywhere. You can work at your own pace.
This exciting program prepares medical professionals for a career in the legal field as legal nurse consultants. Building on your medical education and possible clinical experience, this course provides nurses with the fundamental skills necessary to advise law firms, health care providers, insurance companies, and governmental agencies regarding medically related issues and to appear in court as expert witnesses. The course teaches legal concepts related to the healthcare industry, as well as the role a legal nurse consultant might play in litigation areas such as medical malpractice, toxic torts, product liability, personal injury, wrongful death, criminal law, and workers’ compensation. Any nurse interested in entering the legal field can benefit from the education provided by this course. The course is also open to anyone interested in the field of forensic testimony and medical-legal issues, but participants without a nursing background might not be able to take the LNCC exam after graduation. Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) is a discretionary test separate from this training course that experienced registered nurses graduating from this course may decide to sit for. LNCC test eligibility requirements are discussed during this training course; however, nurses graduating from this course need not take the LNCC to practice as legal nurse consultants.
This nurse continuing professional development activity was approved by the Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approved by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Successful graduates will receive a certificate for 42 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development from CLS by Barbri that they may be able to use to fulfill continuing education requirements.

Advanced Legal Research & Writing

This is an online course. This class can be taken anytime, anywhere during the class dates specified.
This exciting course is designed to teach advanced and specialized approaches to utilize the legal resources available in a law library, and elsewhere. The conceptual differences between computer-assisted legal research and hard-copy research will be taught. You will also learn how to formulate WESTLAW search queries and effectively and efficiently use WESTLAW and other online legal research methods as time-saving devices in legal research and legal writing. This course is designed to examine more thoroughly advanced and specialized approaches to utilizing the legal sources available in the law library and online. Successful graduates of this non-credit course will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from the college or university of their choice.

Healthy Kids: Child Care Provider Toolkit 1.14.25

This Zoom series provides training on four essential topics for providers who work with parents/caregivers of infants and/or young children: Mandated Reporting: For providers requiring Mandated Reporter Training by the State of Maine. Upon successful completion of the training, the Mandated Reporter Certificate is granted by the Maine Office of Child and Family Services. Infant Safe Sleep: Topics covered include the ABCDs of safe sleep, Maine data, common myths and FAQs and how to support parents/caregivers. To succeed in Spanish III, students should already be comfortable with key foundational skills, including the use of personal pronouns, noun-adjective agreement in gender and number, conjugation of regular and irregular verbs in the present tense, expressing quantities, making comparisons, and using demonstrative and possessive pronouns. Build on that foundation by studying negative sentence structures, indirect object pronouns, and the conjugation of verbs in the past and future tenses. Through a mix of speaking, writing, and listening activities, students will deepen their communication skills and gain confidence in discussing past events, making future plans, and expressing more complex ideas.
