During this session, you will learn how to navigate multiple worksheets, save your workbook, create formulas, use functions, change the layout of your worksheet, and how to create practical worksheets. 1040 Income Tax – Maintain tax information that is very useful when preparing your annual tax return. The design of this course includes 2-3 hours of work with the software between sessions to gain maximum benefit from the sessions. Some examples of using Microsoft Excel as a Practical Tool: ● Grocery Shopping List – Quickly create a weekly grocery shopping list. What a time saver! ● Contractor Estimate Calculator - Great tool for any contractor who has to provide estimates for customers. ● Household Budget – Create a monthly budget of your household expenditures. This is a live online class using ZOOM. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey included in your automated receipt so the instructor can tailor the course to meet your needs. You will want to have Microsoft Excel on your computer for this workshop and many people find it helpful to have two monitors though it is certainly not necessary to benefit from the sessions. There are two ways to accomplish this: 1) attach an external screen to your computer (contact our program if you need technical assistance with that); 2) use two computers (one for Excel and the other for the ZOOM meeting. Val Landry is a lifelong business educator and academic advisor focused on helping enrich and enhance students' educational and life purposes. He is experienced in college management and, as an adult educator, having taught at the Mid-State College and Kennebec Valley Community College. Bus Driver CDL Class B Permit Pre

Bus drivers are in high demand in Maine! This course will help prepare you to take the CDL Class B permit exams. Participants will use the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles handbook, and there will be a specific focus on requirements for bus drivers. After successfully completing the course and passing the exams, students have the opportunity to work for Biddeford Public School as a bus driver trainee.
Prerequisites: Current Class C license, CASAS assessment score of 238 or higher.

This 20-week, in-depth medical coding for CPC certification through AAPC. This program is designed to teach all aspects of medical coding, providing you with the skills needed to become nationally certified and to get into the job market as a Certified Professional Coder. This certificate program includes Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, 2 CPC-A exam attempts, AAPC membership, 3 practice CPC tests, and all books. Basic computer skills are required. $3,950; Adding Practicode (6 - 10 - week online program) will remove the apprenticeship designation from the CPC Credential; $5,150. Payment plans available.

This program will be held once a week for 20 weeks. Upon completion of the program, you will sit for your CPC national certification which is included in tuition. Your title will be a CPC-A, for the first year; CPC-A means you will be considered a certified coder with an Apprentice designation for one year. Once you have worked for a year, you will have your Apprentice title removed and be an official CPC! This program consists of Medical Terminology/Anatomy for ICD-10 and Medical Coding curriculum.

Becoming a Notary Public
with Bethany Mulkern, Old Orchard Beach/Saco Adult Education
The main responsibility of a notary is to formally witness transactions involving paper documents and, in Maine, to perform marriage ceremonies. Study the office's history as well as its responsibilities, qualifications and record-keeping requirements. You must live in ME or be a NH resident regularly employed or with a business/trade in Maine. Leave with the test completed and a plan in place for turning in your paperwork. A notary license is $50 and valid for seven years.
Bethany Mulkern has been a notary public since May 2019 and has performed various notarial duties, including weddings. As a result, she is well-versed in all aspects of the role of a notary public and has a great deal of enthusiasm about the subject matter, which she's excited to share with her students!
