Dog Training: Manners 1

Tired of feeling like you’re at the other end of a dog sled team? Want to be able to take your dog to the farmers market without them jumping on everyone? Need help getting your dog to come when you really need him to? Manners 1 is the class for you! 

For dogs 4 months and older, this class will help you and your dog work as a team to conquer these big struggles and more. Join Shelby Sullivan (Salty Dogs Obedience and Adventure Trainer) as we cover loose leash walking, coming when called, stay, sit/down/stand, polite greetings (not jumping) and working on attention and other skills around distractions. Class is approximately 45-50 minutes and class size is limited to 5 dogs.

The first week is a humans only orientation, so you will NOT bring your dog with you.

This class is not appropriate for reactive dogs.

A combination of strength and cardio circuits designed to build muscle and keep your body in the fat burning zone followed by some stretch, balance and mobility exercises for a refreshing workout!

Please bring a yoga mat and one set of of light weights approximately 5lbs.

Dog Training: Super Puppy

We have delayed the original start date (3/15) of this class, and it will begin on 3/22.

This class is for puppies 9-16 weeks old.  In the first week of class, we will focus on proper socialization, troubleshooting puppy problems, and beginning obedience. At this age, socialization is crucial in preventing fear and related problems down the road, so we will practice interacting with other puppies, meeting new people, exploring new objects and surfaces and growing confidence. We will also discuss house training and crate training, play biting and jumping. Learn to use positive reinforcement to teach your puppy to sit, down, stand, stay, leave it, walk on leash and come when called. Your instructor is Shelby Sullivan from Salty Dogs Obedience.

Class is approximately 45-50 minutes and class size is limited to 6 dogs.

Reset your day with quiet evening flow with Jazmin. This class begins with centering the mind, followed by poses that will help you wind down from your day, releasing tension in your body. You will stay low to the floor and work into longer holds to give you the space to reconnect with your breath and quiet the mind. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat and a water bottle! Optional Blocks and Blanket. No class 2/22 4/19

Taking your basic obedience skills to the next level including drop it, focus work, leave it, heeling and adding distance and distractions to your obedience cues.

Must have completed Manners 1 course for entrance (or by instructor permission). 

For dogs 4 months and older.

Class is approximately 45-50 minutes and class size is limited to 6 dogs.

ATV/SNOWMOBILE SAFETY

Participation in an ATV and snowmobile education course will teach how to properly operate and maintain an ATV and snowmobile. Laws, responsibilities, and personal safety will also be covered. Passage of final exams is required. You must attend the whole class in order to receive your certificates. Students under 16 yrs of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Instructor Bio:

Liz Johnson acquired her Yoga Teacher Training through Downtown Yoga in Augusta, Maine and is certified through the  Yoga Alliance.  She began practicing yoga during the pandemic to ease lower back pain.  She quickly realized yoga was providing her with much more than pain relief.  She noticed feeling more alert during the day, more peaceful at night and more connected to her community.  Liz believes yoga is for everyone- all body types and fitness levels. If you have been curious about trying yoga or rekindling your practice now is the time.  Liz can not wait to share the many benefits of yoga with you!
