Efficient use of technology in a work setting requires basic knowledge in several areas: the PC operating system, software applications (Microsoft Office), and communicating professionally. In this class, you will learn about the Windows operating system and its tools, and how to manage software, files, and folders. We will explore basic word processing using MS Word 2016, learn about spreadsheets with Excel 2016, and examine common features of databases. Lastly, we will touch on basic customer service techniques common in various work settings. This hands-on course is for beginning computer users in the workforce.

Google Drive is an example of a cloud-based place you can create and save files of all kinds-word documents, spreadsheets, surveys, and more.  You can access the files from most devices and more than one person can work on a file at the same time. If you’re using it for personal use the Google suites are free.  It’s  also a practical way to learn new programs without investing in software programs.  Basic computer skills, including hardware and software basics and a Gmail account are required for this workshop.   Makeup class (if needed) 04/06/20.
