This course is made for you if you want to learn to fully take advantage of your iPhone’s features and capabilities. You will learn how to use your iPhone not only to text and receive and make phone calls, but also to use a variety of apps and navigate the iPhone’s Settings. Introduction to Mac Basics

This course is a step-by-step guide to learning to use your Mac computer. It is packed with easy-to-follow videos that explain and demonstrate how to use your Mac laptop or desktop computer. This course is made for you if you are just learning to use your Mac or if you already have a Mac but want to upgrade your skills and abilities. You will learn everything you need to know to get the most out of your Mac: Basic Mac features, browsers, communicating (text, email, FaceTime),organizing files and documents, best apps and the App Store, and much more. In addition to the step-by-step instructions for the five primary videos we provide additional videos and articles that will help you solve any questions about your Mac.
Introduction to Zoom Basics - NEW!

Using Zoom more than ever? Here is a great way to learn everything you need to know about the Zoom Video Conferencing platform. The course videos demonstrate examples of using Zoom on different devices—smartphones, tablets, and computers. Course content includes: Muting audio and video; using chat; screen sharing; recording; trouble shooting; scheduling meetings; break-out rooms; and more. This course is appropriate for Zoom beginners as well as those who have used Zoom and want to learn more.

Alice Haiss Scholarship Fund
Alice Haiss of Skowhegan worked as an adult education teacher for many years as part of the Somerset County Basic Skills Program. She was a literacy, basic skills, GED Preparation and English as a Second Language teacher at the program's Learning Center. She also taught GED Preparation, basic and life skills at the Somerset County Jail for years. During that period, she took part in a federal grant project called the Esteem Machine that combined the teaching of life skills with academic skills.
Haiss also worked for Educational Skills, Inc., where she facilitated Project Resiliency, and intervention program to prevent female juvenile offenders from being incarcerated at a youth correctional center. The program focused on the development of problem solving, communication, team-building, and self-esteem building.
This scholarship will benefit any adult education learner who are pursuing education or training in high demand, high skill, or high wage occupations.
Awards will be announced yearly at the Adult Education Graduation in June.

MCST Adult Education is an official Certiport® Exam Test Center, proctoring exams for individuals with current and relevant digital skills to obtain credentials for the competitive global workforce. Certification exams include the official Microsoft Office program, the Microsoft Technology Associate program, the Adobe® Certified Associate program, the Adobe® Certified Expert program, the Autodesk® Certified User program, the Intuit® QuickBooks Certified User program and the IC3 Digital Literacy Certification. The proctor fee must be paid at the time of testing here; the fee is based on the length of the exam. Please call 596-7752 option 3 with questions and to schedule a testing appointment.

Get your computer skills up to par this spring! Join Hannah and Paula as we explore basic computer functions and programs and how to use them. Learn how to use that new laptop you got for Christmas or be confident in hosting virtual meetings with your friends and family. This course will include a basic introduction to computer hardware, basic computer functions, internet and email. This very basic course is designed to prepare you to use a computer in a gentle, non-threatening pace. Limit 10 students.

The Tech Spot is a School and Community Project that offers technology advice and tutoring at no charge to adults from throughout our school district.
To help minimize the spread of COVID-19, this semester the Tech Spot will be offered as a phone-in help line.
At select times, you may call a support person who will be available to try to answer questions and troubleshoot technology problems. Examples of possible help sessions include general computer operation, conducting web searches, using Facebook and other social media programs, and operating Smart phones, iPads, Tablets, and PCs. Assistance with some software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) is available as well. Please call the Adult Education office at 474-7553 with any questions you may have.
