You will learn everything you need to know about Zoom—getting set up with Zoom, settings, security, instructional strategies, building community, Zoom tips for instructors and students, and much more. In addition to the step-by-step instructions for the 11 primary videos we provide several other resources— videos and articles—that will help you solve any questions you have about building your online course.

Fantastic Photo Finishes-Organize & Edit Images with Your iPhone/iPad Photos App

This is a natural follow-up to "Taking Awesome Pictures with your iPhoneiPad," but is a stand-alone course as well. The focus here is on editing images as well as knowing how to organize images and video on iPhones or iPads. Other areas of focus include using the “For You” section (ready-made slide shows), creating, using, and sharing albums, and search.

This course is appropriate for Zoom beginners as well as those who have used Zoom and want  to learn more.

Tech Spot

The Tech Spot is a School and Community Project that offers technology advice and tutoring at no charge to adults from throughout our school district.

Examples of possible help sessions include general computer operation, conducting web searches, using Facebook and other social media programs, and operating Smart phones, iPads, Tablets, and PCs. Assistance with some software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) is available as well.

Project partners include RSU 54 Adult & Community Education, Town of Skowhegan, and the RSU 54 Technology Staff.

Tuesday evening’s A Hands on Workshop to provide free training and advice to help you get to know your Electronic Device whatever it may be. Participants bring their own Smartphone, Tablet, Computer, Digital Camera, Digital Voice recorder, High Tech Gadgets, or any technology they would like to get to know better…even electronic musical instruments. The Instructor will be available to help research, troubleshoot, solve technological issues, give advice and help participants establish an understanding of their electronic devices, whether it’s uploading photos, syncing a phone to a computer, recovering a password, creating a calendar event or posting to Social Media. Will also be giving tips on keeping online accounts secure. Participants must bring…. 1:Their own Device(s) * 2: Any questions, concerns, issues or goals they have with the device(s) 3: A Small Notebook and Pen * It is preferred, but not necessary in all cases, that Smartphones, Tablets and Laptops have the latest updates installed if possible and that the participant knows any relevant passwords that they may need.

Computer Cafe

This class is a computer lab designed to offer a space for people to access computer support from an experienced teacher, compassionate volunteers and fellow participants. You will be given instruction, as well as support, in accessing information for learning new skills on your own.

This is a 12-week lab. You purchase a punch card for 6 sessions and you come at a mutually agreeable time. Punch cards can be renewed.  Students enrolled in our academic programs receive a fee waiver for this session.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to bring your own coffee!  

This is an in-person lab; ongoing enrollment. 

No class 10/11/21.
