Introduction to QuickBooks Online
with Brenda Dolloff, Windham/Raymond Adult Education

QuickBooks is an accounting software that helps small businesses keep records of their transactions--cash sales, sales on account, bills, expenses, and much more. You do not need to be an accountant to use or learn Quickbooks Online; however, a trained accountant is recommended to provide financial advice, help a business maintain well-kept and accurate records, and keep a business current with tax laws. It is not required that students have a subscription to Quickbooks Online. Some students may be considering switching from the desktop version, and others may be just interested in learning about this accounting software because it has been praised as “one of the best full-featured accounting software options around”, according to Intuit. This four-week class is designed to introduce students to the basics of Quickbooks Online. Students will be introduced to the dashboard, navigation bar, settings menu, and global create button. Additionally, students will be shown how to do the following: Create a company, set up a few accounts and create a list of products and services; Add customers and vendors; Create invoices and sales receipts; Enter bills and expenses; Independent practice will be impossible for students who do not have a subscription. However, a part of each hour-long class involves asking students to volunteer to give instructions as to where to go to complete certain tasks to review what they have learned.
