Our community is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life.
On behalf of Maine’s children with special needs and their families, we’d like to thank you for your interest in becoming a Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP)! Children’s Behavioral Health Services are vital to these children and their families and the need is great.
As an integral part of the child’s treatment team, a BHP has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential. The BHP Training is offered as a blended course which consists of 12 on-demand online modules, including pre/post-tests, and an 8 hour Live Day (offered in-person and virtually) with a Certified BHP Instructor. Learners must complete all 12 online modules prior to attending a Live Day session.
Thanks to funding being provided by Maine’s Department of Health and Human Services, we are able to offer the training free of charge through December 2023.
Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course may register.

Behavior Health Professional Training
with Woodfords Services, Marshwood Adult & Community Education

Children’s Behavioral Health Services is vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health Disorders and their families. The need in our area is great!
We are excited to connect our adult education community with this wonderful ONLINE training program. This online training is Free. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies and the school districts.
The program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace. You will complete 12 online modules then 3, 4-hour live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training.
Once the modules are completed, participants that do not already possess CPR certification will be required to complete either in-person or blended Child & Adult CPR/FA training. You can take CPR through Adult Education or Woodfords Services.
The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours. Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalency upon completion of the course may register.
SQL Certificate

Structured Query Language (SQL) is the industry standard database programming language. It is one of the most in demand skills in occupations that require interaction with data and analyzing data. Through your knowledge of Structured Query Language, you will become more marketable in computer related career fields that pertain to database administration. Learning SQL can also lead to a job that is specific to analyzing data such as a data analyst, a quality assurance analyst, or a business analyst.
You’ll first learn about relational database structures, the history and uses of Structured Query Language, and how to use Structured Query Language to create a database, add records to database tables, and how to use SQL queries to extract meaningful data from database tables. You will quickly progress from creating simple SQL queries that query a single table to querying multiple tables simultaneously. You’ll also learn how to alter data in a database and how to gather significant statistics from data stored in a database. Finally, you'll learn techniques that will enable you to write powerful queries that perform complicated searches and sorts on your data. This certificate will enhance your competitiveness in the field of database administration and data analyst jobs.

The World of Work Inventory (WOWi) is a comprehensive career assessment instrument, which has been carefully constructed to help a person learn the most about him or herself in relation to the wide variety of occupations available. The WOWi provides a personalized profile for each person. As a result, you will receive a listing of occupations most suitable to your unique combination of personality, interests and skills.

Behavioral Health Professional

Make a difference in a child’s life as a BHP. This online training will equip you to help children with disabilities, autism and mental health disorder who are receiving behavioral health services and to prepare for local employment through social services providers. Includes 12 online modules and 12 hours of live, virtual instruction and bloodborne pathogens training. An online child & adult first aid & CPR training is available if needed. The entire training takes about 45 hours to complete. You must be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Register on our website for information. Our Career and College Access Coordinator will connect you with Woodford’s Family Services to begin the training.
