BHP: Behavioral Health Professional Certification

This NEW blended online and in-person certification course teaches individuals how to provide in-home support to children (4 - 21 years of age) with intellectual/developmental delays, Autism, or major mental health diagnosis in their home and community – this class meets the state requirements for certification as a BHP for job placement.  High school diploma or equivalency is required to attend this BHP training.  CPR/First Aid is needed in conjunction with this course for certification.  See CPR dates above.  CPR cost is NOT included in the cost of this course.

Online portion and CPR must be completed before the Face-to-Face portion of the class.

Areas of instruction focus on punctuation, vocabulary, grammar, capitalization, spelling, letter formatting, writing, and set-up. Hands-on reinforcement exercises in the computer lab with the assistance of support technology will allow students to apply today's business concepts in a future office setting. This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program.

Learn and practice writing skills for an office setting. Identify the audience, the purpose, and the key points to convey in your business documents, whether they are memos, emails, or letters. Learn to be clear and concise, and also to be aware of the tone of your documents to send the intended message and get the results you desire. Practice editing for clarity, grammar, and mechanics. This class is part of the Office Skills Model Office course. No class 02/19/19; makeup class (if needed) 04/09/19.

The business skills certificate program provides a package of courses to prepare students for the business skills field.  The course includes the following courses:  Basic computer, Internet, Email, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Communication Technology for Business, Google Suites, Office Skills Orientation and optional Quickbooks.  In addition to the program's business courses, our certificate team may determine that a student needs to be enrolled in our learning center English and/or math brush-up courses.  Students will meet with a staff advisor and discuss this enrollment prior to entering the program.

C.N.A. (Certified Nursing Assistant)

Learn the ins and outs of this challenging career from someone who knows the career first hand! This course is 180 hours long with lecture, lab, and clinical experiences at two local nursing homes and the hospital. There are prerequisite reading and math assessments that need to be completed prior to enrolling which can be taken Monday-Wednesday from 9am -noon or Tuesday-Wednesday from 5pm-8pm. 

There is MANDATORY orientatio for this class on Tuesday, January 15th at 2:30pm.

C.R.M.A. (Certified Residential Medication Aide)

This 40 hour course gets you ready to work in the health field distributing medication. Jobs are always available for this certification! Start working by summer! There is a prerequisite reading assessment that needs to be completed prior to enrolling. This can be taken any Monday- Thursday morning at 9 am or any Tuesday or Wednesday night at 5pm. 

Mandatory orientation for this class on Monday, February 25th at 2pm.

C.R.M.A. Re-certification (Certified Residential Medication Aide)
