This course will help prepare you with the skills needed to pass the HiSET Math exam.  Topics include: Numbers and Operations; Exponents and Roots; Decimals, Fractions, and Percents; Rates, Ratios, and Proportions; Measurements; Geometry; Statistics; and Algebra.  Schedule set with student upon enrollment

During this course you will prepare for the HiSET exam in the areas of Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies.  Schedule set with student at enrollment.

This course is a great transitional course from Basic Math to Algebra I. The course will also prepare you for the HiSET Math Prep course. This course will cover integers, expressions, equations, linear functions, graphing, real numbers, right triangles, percent, distance, surface area and volume. Schedule set with student at enrollment.

Capture a bouquet with watercolor and ink! We’ll explore techniques for illustrative ink drawing with ‘dip pens’, and layering and mixing vibrant and organic hues with watercolor. Students will leave with their own unique composition of a bouquet. Materials can be purchased by students in advance or purchased from the instructor the day of, for $23.

Compassion meditation helps to bring more understanding and empathy toward others and yourself. Join this 2-hour mini-retreat to explore variations of Loving-Kindness meditation and a compassion practice which can be integrated informally into daily life. We will close with a brief period of discussion. All levels of experience are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat and a journal. Facilitator: Heather Shaughnessy-Cato.

Parents are required to attend the last 30 minutes of the first class AND participate in a ride-along with your child for the last hour of their 10 hour driving lessons requirement.  Please Note:  There is a make-up fee for missed classes.

Are you between ages 15 and 19 and want your State of Maine permit to prepare for your driving exam? We offer driver education courses to help build strong, safe, and confident drivers. Students are awarded an instructional permit upon successful completion of the course with a grade of 80 percent or better. Only employee discounts are allowed, but you must call to register. If the student has a medical condition, please contact the office or click on the link below as an additional medical form is required. Total hours of instruction is 40; 30 classroom and 10 driving. Full payment of $560 is required at the time of registration. If a student withdraws from the course, $75 is withheld from the refund to cover program costs. Only employee discounts for this class. Please bring your birth certificate or passport to the first class and a pen to every class as well as glasses for your eye exam, if you wear them.

This course is perfect for adults who need to prepare for success on college entrance or licensure exams, including the Accuplacer, HESI, and PRAXIS, and/or earn a high school credit in the subject. The classroom atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and includes direct instruction, hands-on activities, and online learning.
